Over 12 ST1300's from 2005 TO 2011
« on: November 07, 2017, 09:17:14 AM »
Link to eBay listing in the USA:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-Honda-ST1300/302516093100?hash=item466f5d40ac:g:AeAAAOSwIFtZ~95L&vxp=mtr

Ex Santa Barbara Police Dept. bikes.

We stayed five nights in Santa Barbara on our US trip earlier this year.  Nice little spot, if you stayed on the right side of the tracks.  On the other side, it was a different matter - pretty poor, untidy houses, car wrecks on street, lots of homeless, low socio-economic areas.  No place to walk or break down, especially at night.

Twelve ex-police bikes, these are with a dealer, I suppose the PD must've upgraded.  It's a wonder they could afford them, then again there seemed to be unlimited amount of crime over there, so they must have a pretty good budget.

Anyway, it looks like a "buyers" market for ST1300's.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

It will be interesting to see what they eventually go for.  Obviously a few motivated bidders.
They ship world-wide!  Anyone got a few spare (US) dollars? Around 40,000 km for maybe AU$4000.
Plus shipping plus hassles.
Didja see the chrome frame on the rear in the 4th photo?
Comes with front and rear chrome crash bars and half "tank bra".
There's an outfit called "WeGoLook" who can check it out for you:

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Plus GST
Plus in ACT, first time registered in ACT impost, although the market value is small.

Not me.  I think they look plug ugly.  But if someone needed a frame like this, e.g. for camping, they're the ducks nuts.

These bars are available from MC Enterprises in the States, the front crash bars come out at nearly $500 AUD plus postage and the rear set complete $1225 AUD plus postage.
If anyone wants details I’m happy to forward prices and photos, PM me wth your email address.

The winning bid was US$5995

I guess that means anyone could buy one at that price- or the one guy bought the lot at that unit price.  Surely not US$500 each!

The Ebay auction was for 1 only Biggles, so not really a bargain for antipodian buyers when you factor in the exchange rate, shipping, duties etc
