BRAND NEW 2014 ST1300A
« on: April 10, 2019, 12:30:03 PM »
Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you know I came across a brand new 2014 ST1300A for sale in Moorooka, Qld.

While it's a new bike, you have to use the site's Used Bike search to find it. Their price is $19,990 ex.

http://www.promotorcycles.com.au/bike-search-v2/

Direct link Clicky

I can't afford it, but someone may be interested.

The dash shows fuel consumption in L/100km. (Found our how to do this on my 2004. Ignore me, I'm a noob)

Yeah I'll bet someone would be keen.  There can't be many brand new ones left. Every now and then one sneaks out of hiding.  That makes me pretty happy with the price I paid for mine though - mine was only 6 months out from new with 8k on the clock and with a Honda topbox for 14,990 inc.

I couldn’t go back to an ST1300 now that I’ve experienced the computers on my FJR and Trophy SEII.

I know what you mean having ridden a BMW 1200GT for 10 days and owned a Wing for 9 months, but for me it's a case of knowing the STs pretty well and having mine set up to suit me.  The Feejer is a bit more sporty but no better weather protection.  I don't know much about the Trophy, but value the relative simplicity of the ST.  I'm not sure I would get the optimum use out of all the gizmos on those bikes.  Changing the ride on-the-fly would be the most useful feature, I guess.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

They all have their merits.  The white ones command attention.  The red ones are fastest.  The blue ones appeal to my loyalty to my favourite colour. The silver ones exude class.  The black ones need to be resprayed red and so on...
