Ipswich area query
« on: April 27, 2020, 05:40:13 PM »
Hi All,

Sorry for all the questions of late, I am finally picking up my very first ST1100 on Saturday and have been researching and watching every youtube video I can find on the bike.

Anyway, I am hoping that other members in or around the Ipswich QLD area can recomend the best place for spare parts and lubricants?
I intend to do a change of all oils and check and renew any grease areas that I can as soon as I get the bike.

Where is the best place to buy oils, grease and filters required for the bike? I don't want to just blindly go to somewhere like Top Gun just because they are the local Honda dealer only to find that there is somewhere better.

Thanks for any advice

Repco
They have the oil (Penrite HPR Diesel 15W 50 is what I use) and oil filter Repco ROF 135. Oil and filters from Honda are way to expensive. For the final drive, use 80-90 diff oil, a 1lt container will last for ever.

I use this in my ST1300....  :thumbs

Supercheap have it on special fairly often. I think last time I bought some it was around $43.00...   :clap

As for filters, I like the K&N filter as they have a nut welded on them making them easier to undo...they can be bought quite cheap on eBay...

I am really appreciative of all the information provided by you good people on this forum.
I have just finished making sure I have all the basic tools, socket sizes etc for doing work on the 1100.

I have ordered a 500g tine of Moly paste as well to keep on hand in the garage as I want to be confident everything is kept in top order on my new ride for as long as humanly possible.

Looking forward to getting out on the highway and also meeting up with many of you when RTE's begin again.

Cheers
