I enjoy the monthly compilations from the Dash Cam Owners Australia.
It's scary seeing how many d*ckheads (in all types of vehicles) there are out on our roads though... :o

That was me. That road in Ascot Park runs along a railway and the traffic banked up is turning left where the boom gates were down. She decided she was going straight ahead and run the wrong side of the road. Had I been two seconds later she'd have been on the corner and I would have had nowhere to go.

I don't mean to cast aspersions on people who may drive certain brands of cars, but from watching a few compilations, there are a quite a lot of Toyotas featured in these dash cam videos.

I must admit I felt sick to my stomach after viewing it, thankfully though, the rider is okay!
Description: 31/05/2022 at 14:31 on the Light Horse Bridge (Newbridge Road, Moorebank / Liverpool)
A NSW Ambulance Service vehicle was responding Westbound under lights when a Motorcycle rider travelling Eastbound collided with the eastbound vehicle ahead of it.
That vehicle was then hit by a truck causing the vehicle to run over the motorcyclist.
The NSW Ambulance crew stopped responding to render immediate assistance.
A spokesman for NSW Ambulance confirmed the patient in this incident was treated for minor fractures, and was discharged after two nights in hospital.

Motorcycle and sidecar going a little quick for corner, enters incorrect lane causing dash cam vehicle to brake heavily and ford territory to run into the rear.
Dash cam driver - The rider forgot he had the sidecar on. Tried to lean as he came round the bend and couldn't. I knew the red car was inside me so hit the brakes. Got a light tap from a car behind me. There was an 8 year old in the sidecar. Going up Kalamunda Hill, WA. The rider did stop and admitted full responsibility. Credit to my ARB rear bullbar/towbar for saving my car, the ford territory got towed away.

First time through I watched it was without the sound. I had no idea why the truck was just sitting there stationary. I didnt realise until I turned on the sound that the driver was busy comitting GBH. What a nasty piece of work.

The furniture coming off the trailer @9.10 was posted to the OzStoc FB Group Facebook page earlier this month by a group member, Dale Porter. Not sure if he's on the forum, but he was lucky to keep his ST1100 upright. Received some damage.

I didn't delete my post. It's in the Qld Licenses thread. :-)
I've gone over the bike and mechanically it's perfect, just some panel damage which I can fix up at some point. I happened to have a spare engine guard cover so that was an easy one to sort out. Just need to fix up the lower side panel and the pannier.

The one at the end was also a fine example of a knobhead on a pullet pursuer though, so an understandable mistake.

You did a good job of bring the beast to a safe touch-down. And with an admirable lack of cussing too ! I would have though at least a "holy crap!" would have been in order.

I couldn't exonerate the dashcam owner in every one of those roundabout near misses. There's room for a bit of "give and take" in roundabouts, and charging into one doesn't automatically entitle you to it.

There are quite a few like that, or worse.. I have seen some of those overloaded utes with a snapped chassis behind the cab. They have 12" of stacked springs to carry the load. No they dont get told to unload, the weighbridge ticket is how they get paid..

I fitted a dash-cam in the wife's driving school car last year.
Also put one in my car around the same time but it's not hooked up via the ignition as I couldn't be bothered doing that at the time so I have to remember to turn it on (and off) if we go anywhere in it.
Bought one for my ST1300 ages back which I still haven't installed...maybe it will happen this Winter??? :whistle :

On STrudel, the back camera is mounted to the underside of the top-box.
The attached pic shows were I put the front cam. Another possible location is under the headlight - just be carefull you aren't going to crush it by bottoming out the front forks.

I'd thought about under the headlight but figured, like you said, if you bottomed out the forks you'd probably mangle the cam.
Then I was thinking perhaps to the side, but still under the headlight maybe? Either that or perhaps mount it under one of the mirror pods.
Bit hesitant in drilling holes in any of the fairing plastics though.
With the rear camera I was thinking maybe under the actual top box rack with some kind of custom bracket. :think1
I'll have to hook the cameras all up to see what sort of view I get from those positions...

I used a screw on the front one- a hole up under there isn't a cosmetic issue. The rear one is held on with a tie-wrap.

No. I was trying to work out where it was.
Had another look now and blew up the last frame. It looks like it was bus 2605 or something beginning with a 2. That would make it a busways bus in the Outer South. I still can't pick the location though. Now that it's on the dashcam channel the news channels may find it in the next couple of days.
