I still enjoyed the commute to work.

Saw three bikers heading West stop in town yesterday for lunch.

Maybe heading to the Border or anywhere else for that matter.

Sitting at home with a rotten head cold feeling sorry for myself - at least some of the farmers in SA are getting a bit of rain so I hope it does some good. After our drive through western NSW a week or so ago I'd have to say I haven't seen such a dismal growing year for a long, long time.
On a slightly more positive note I've been in touch with the Wallaroo/Cowell ferry people and they reckon the service will be back on in October ('tho I must admit, I'll believe it when I see it). It makes for a great round trip into different country for a weekend away. Julie is happy to pillion as well as there aren't hundreds of Kms of pretty uninspiring riding getting to the interesting bits.

Wombat and I were DNF, he had electrical issues and once that had been sorted my '77 GL1000 threw a conrod at the start of 90 mile straight, Wombat rode back to my place got my ute and trailer, picked me up at Balladonia and we returned home.

maybe next year

So at what age does this "old enough to know better" kick in?
I believe in the "hereafter", every time I go to the shed I have to think "what am I here after"

Good on both of you for looking after each other, you survived the ride and I hope had some fun (at least before the issues) :thumb
Hopefully the bikes will be able to be repaired without too much issue.

Good luck for next year :thumbsup

LindsayGT, Captain Thunderbolt, Mitch and myself all made it. Shame about Yorkie and Wombat, they would have added to the OzSTOC numbers.
The four of us who did make it are all on our way to MacKay. LindsayGt and Capt Thunderbolt were going to turn north at Port Augusta to make their own separate ways to MacKay. Mitch and I are at Wilcannia and plan on being in Mackay Thursday.

Had I known you were passing through we could have been down the main street for a quick meet up. Enjoy your ride.

Thanks Alan, I did think about it but we were on a mission. Got caught behind windfarm sections between your place and Yunta. There are over 500 sections still to be transported to Silverton.
