My ST1300A just grew!

I really liked my '12 Goldwing and was looking forward to the NEW Goldwing. But Honda failed me with their ridiculous pricing. So I looked sideways and found this bike.

Wow. Nicely done Sir!  A worthy successor to the trusty STeed. I’ll admit to having given these more than a casual sideways glance myself.

You did well to choose a post-2014 model. I believe they made a couple of useful improvements in 2014.

When I test rode the bike, I noticed that since last fuel economy reset, the bike averaged 5.2l/100km. That’s not bad, given my ST1300 was running at around 5.5l/100km. The big advantage of the ST1300 is the 29l fuel tank. I will miss this.

I aim to get to Glendambo on Sunday night.

Although it's a different engine in the GT, I've averaged 4.4 l/100km in the 6,500km since I bought the RT, and easily get 500km from a tank under normal highway conditions.  5.5 l/100km was also my long term average with the ST1300.

Over the two years I've had Ruby2sday she's returned 5.3 l/100km.  That figure is skewed by the fact I have the V-Strom for my city riding, so most of the ST's travel is on longer rides, which helps immensely. It's around 6.25 when it's mostly city riding.
I'd concur with the 500km per tank- that's what I was getting on the NZ RT.  Cost-wise, the saving in consumption is offset by the much dearer fuel- around 10% more expensive.

IU was looking at a 03 Goldwing yesterday and a guy walked in and saw the BMW 1600 in the corner and said I 'll take it and brought it with in 1 min of walking in the door. He commented that he had been looking for one for awhile and loved the reviews.. It was a nice bike and I'm sure he will be really happy. Wish i could walk in and say i'll buy it like that..
But the Goldwing was a lovely bike aswell with trailer for $11,500. )3 model and 144K kms on the clock.. MMMMM
