Looking at getting something like this for the 1300 which I think matches the HIDs I have on the 1100.

Twenty thousand lumens sure sounds powerful! At 70 watts they've reached the drain our regular lights use.
Only US$25 a pair! They are a bargain! I'll let you do the testing for us. Like all LEDs, they claim 50,000 hours. I wonder if anyone has been able to verify that life.
I see they're "quake-proof" which would be a real comfort if you live in New Zealand.

Looking at eBay the price varies from about $20 up to about $50 for the same item and $25 (plus the wiring kit for $14) a pair from the same place I got my HIDs from which are now priced at something like $260 a pair compared to about the $75 delivered price I paid a few years ago.
I don't have much faith in the advertised Lumens thing nor am I yet convinced that some LED options are as good as they claim but I like the actual design.
The store I'm looking at claims a 3 year warranty and original price of $62.72.

The lights certaily look like delivering good "Band for Bucks" and I like the shape of the light beam. What mounts are you using Alan?

Back in August I purchased off eBay two pair of look-a-likes of these:

They were advertised as driving lights, but they're not. They are very, very bright, but the beam is also very, very spread. But for $20:88 (including postage), what the heck. Clicked on the eBay link in my PayPal account, but the eBay page has been removed.
At the time I needed (?) something to put in the driving light mounts in the RAV4's nudge bar, these fitted the bill, and I thought if they were any good, I'd mount the extra pair on the ST1300, but I haven't as yet. So if someone wants a pair of LED's for the princely sum of $10:44 (yeah, the pair), they can pick them from St Helena. Another condition on pick-up, is that we share a coupla stubbies and have a yarn.
They are a solid units, have a 'feel' of quality about them, not sure if they are gunna last 50 or 50,000 hours, as the RAV went to a new owner on Sat 22.
I can also post them to anywhere, but at AusPost rates, not Chinese rates (unless the Chinese Govt. subsidises me).

I like what I saw in the video as well but there others with the same design with only 18 or 27 watt light output or 60w like the ones I'm looking at. Only thing I can rely on is at least an Australian seller should be complying with our "truth in advertising laws"

Already have the 1300 police light mounts which I bought off of LindsyGT in Perth when picking the bike up.

My experiences with LED's is they throw a lot of light spread however it is not concentrated down the road for distance, I wouldn't have them again

Depends on the LEDs. Mine threw about 4 km down the road. Loved them.

I bit the proverbial bullet and bought the pictured Lights in the first post plus the wiring for Total cost $48.86. ($4.00 discount for buying two items)
May as well add them since I have the plastic off and while waiting on the parts from Honda

4km!!!! Best I've heard - let alone from LEDs. With all the lights that have ever adorned STella, I couldn't have claimed anything over 600m... which is more than adequate.

I'm still not fully convinced of these yet but having a generic LED Dolphin type torch on hand which throws out a decent light if not better than the original 6 volt globe does help.
Good thing is I have a set of 55W HID on the 1100 I can swap over if on road testing is less than adequate.

Half the problem with night driving is knowing where the road goes, and my LEDs lit up road signs and guide posts 4 km down the road. Being a metrologist, you know I measured it, repeatedly. As soon as I could identify the sign, checked the trip meter and when I passed, checked again. (Part of my mental stimulation exercises on long rides)
I saw a couple of kangaroos eyes reflected at 2 and 3 km range and had plenty of time to slow before I got near them. I watched them hop off the road at 600 metres range.
The road surface was clear out to 800 metres to 1 km, highlighting pot holes and dead roos and wombats at that 800 metres.
It also depends on the individual's night vision.
My daughters new VW Tiguan has LED headlights as standard, and I've driven that on the Bribie Island Road at night. Good out to 1.5 km, easy.
