I'm going to check out the Cairns one. For less than $500 it would be a good project bike for the young fella to work on... or to put the engine in a suzuki mighty boy.. hehehehehehehehehe...

He says it's only "fair" condition.  Maybe he's just being cautious, or has very high standards.
If it was bought just for the excellent V4 engine then there's a whole Christmas tree of parts there for the asking.

I have been and checked out the 1100 that was for sale in Cairns. It is an 1100PS dated 6/95. It's a bit rough but pretty much complete.
Paid the man $475 for it and I pick it up tomorrow.

The decision now needs to be made:
Restoration
Part out and sell bit by bit
Use motor in micro car
Get running keep it naked and put big knobby on the back.... hello dirt drags

Well folks, I bought it. When he said "fair" he meant it had been ridden and was not a show bike. Only a few bits of wear and tear but generally good condition all round. Lovin the rideand enjoying the change from a cruiser.

Sounds like an excellent buy, then.  Probably a good idea to replace all the fluids unless you're sure they have been maintained well.

It is due for  a service and I will be replacing all fluids as part of that. Runs and rides well though. Happy here
