A man is sitting in a restaurant when suddenly a Leper enters and is seated at the booth directly across from the man. The two make brief eye contact, and in an effort not to appear rude, the man goes back to his meal.
Moments later, the man catches a glimpse of the Leper and, overcome with disgust, proceeds to vomit onto the floor. The Leper hurriedly walks over to the man and says “I am terribly sorry, I have Leprosy and my appearance can sometimes make others feel uneasy. I will leave.”
The man says “No, no, please stay. It isn’t your fault.”
The Leper sits back down.
When the bill arrives at the man’s table, he looks up and sees the Leper. He vomits again.
The Leper says: “Sir, I apologize for my appearance. I assure you I will not bother you anymore.”
“No. It isn’t your fault. Please stay, I was just leaving,” says the man.
As the man is collecting his things and preparing to leave, he catches one more sight of the Leper and vomits a third time.
“That’s it!” Says the Leper. “I will not allow you to be ill because of my appearance!”
“It‘s not your fault!” protests the man. “It’s that guy behind you! He keeps dipping his chips into your shoulder!”
