Hi all.
You may know by now that I am moving to Tasmania at the end of September, and have to ride my ST and trailer down on the final trip. :13Candy
An open invitation is extended to all Members to drop by and see me and my entourage at an point and at any time along the route (below).
Some may only be able to make it for a coffee, lunch, overnight camp or even ride a few dozen or hundred kms with us.
We are bringing our own kitchen facilities and will be cooking up a BBQ storm each night after purchasing fresh meat and ingredients each day from local suppliers. This means that we are catering for anyone who want to join us for dinner, but we'll give the head chef $10 per head to cover the food costs and keep it fair.

First stop is Warwick at PC and Marion's place for a camping RTE. 27th September - get there just after lunch and settle in for the evening.
28th September - leave for Ocean View Hotel at Urunga - one of Saaz's faves. A nice ride down Waterfall Way to get there. Book a room for around $50 and enjoy dinner in the Pub's Restaurant.
29th September - Head up the Oxley Hwy to Walcha and then left down Thunderbolts way to end up at Manning River Gloryvale Reserve Tibbuc for an awesome BBQ night of camping in the sticks a la chef Onesie -(amenities available).
30th - Head to Onesie's place for the night - another night to pack the Berocca - Sumptuous feed - including donuts!!!
A late head out next morning to to West Wyalong, and then down to Mt Beauty Via Batlow and Tumbarumba.
2nd of October sees us head down the famous Alpine Way to Bruthen and arrive at Cowes on Philip Island for a couple of nights before I get on the Spirit of Tasmania and bid you all a temporary adieu.

As diesel said I will be bringing the new big rig kitchen I will be on the whole tour so there will be lots of bbq and bacon and pancakes but olny donuts at my place in schofields on the 30th so where ever you can tag along for a ausome ride of a life time.
We need to make shore he leaves the main land so I'll escort him all the way to the boat

Yep, but hopefully not for much longer. Just waiting on latest ultrasound results on whether it is totally healed, then the rehab starts.

Sounds a great farewell ride . . Love to do the lot but reaistically I am looking at joining you for a ride anywhere between Urunga and as far as Healesville, all great riding . . But depends on family commitments and weather . .

It's an awesome bed. Thanks for the offer Kymmie, I'll let you know. But at this stage my plan is to camp wherever the guys are camping.

Hi all - I will update this thread regularly by putting a note at the end of it, and updating the original post so it should be up to date as best as possible.
For instance - the google link shows us heading down the M1 into Sydney - but we are going the Old Putty Rd - will fix that soon.
I will also set up a SpotWalla link and paste it in there for any keen punters to keep an eye on our progress and plan a possible rendezvous.

Diesel, I rode the putty both ways this week ,, and its fun some good roadworks and lane marking changes on some twisty bits,,
I highly recommend it , as you know..
I'll join you guys at Onesies and WW and leave at the Hume after Wagga. ;)

Sounds like an absolutely fantastic trip guys! I doubt I'll be able to make any of it though, we're moving house around that time (settlement on the 29th, planning to move the house that weekend and the sheds the following week). If anyone on the trip decides to extend their ride towards the surf coast (Geelong), we'll have plenty of tent space out the back of the new place.

My achilles is finally healed, but I have been laid low with a cold and chest infection, which took 2 weeks to go away, only to be hit with the flu after feeling semi-human for two days. I've since had pneumonia and sinusitis so haven't been on the bike yet, only just over 3 weeks out from the planned trip. I'm still not well, and can't see myself being anywhere near ride fit for the planned 10,000km journey.
I'll have to catch up with you all another time xx

We are doing lunch for the tour at our place as it passes through Guyra, it's an open invitation so all are very welcome so I just need numbers please.
Lunch will be various samwiches and wraps with Tea/Coffee/Juice.

SA is about to get smashed with a massive storm on Wednesday and Thursday. My planned departure on Friday morning for West Wyalong will depend any road closures and flooding on NSW roads, which could bring my journey to a halt. I'll make some checks on Thursday arvo and Thursday evening. Fingers Crossed :thumb

The rain for Wednesday is 10-20mm, Thursday 5-10mm, Friday is now 5-10mm Pete. Saturday should be dry but 1-5mm Sunday and 1-5mm Sunday. We had a sunny day today but bitter cold wind.

Errrrr ........ I haven't been following this thread too closely (as I thought I would be away this week) and too lazy to go back through all of the posts.
Is this a subtle (or perhaps not so subtle) request for some assistance from Melbourne members, re. airport pick-up / accomodation? If so, I may be in a position to assist. Send a PM if some assist is wanted, if I'm reading this wrong, let me know.

I was just looking at the last date on the hat being the 5th and knowing the ferry departs from Melbourne I was hoping everyone will be in Melbourne the night before. I'll be landing around 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
I've got a business meeting first thing on the 5th and then fly out on the afternoon of the 5th.
Work will be paying for accommodation at the airport, however, I'm not averse to a lift to where ever everyone else is, as long as I'm not too late back to the Airport, as it is an important meeting.

This was a ride I just really didn't want to miss :'(
Luckily I was able get the screen and the helmet into a position that took most of the pressure off my neck so we decided to give it a go :thumbsup
As of right now I'm feeling okay (Hopefully it stays this way) :thumb
As for the ride, it was awesome for us to get out on the bike again and go for one last ride with QLD Diesel :runyay :runyay :wht13 :13Candy
(Riding with Tassie Diesel might not be the same... it'll probably be a bit strange riding with a bloke that has grown a second head :eek :eek) :rofl

I am now unable to get to West Wyalong for Diesel's ride south. I was prepared to confront the tough weather and possible flooding with a major detour, but my old Dad had a stroke early last night and remains very ill in Flinders Medical Centre. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the next couple of critical days.

CHANGE OF PLAN: The Tour is now NOT stopping at Mt Beauty. The ride through Mt Hotham the next day is forecast as Max 1*C down to a min of -4*C with snow. Cannot risk thise conditions and the possibility of failing to proceed, so Wang is now the plan.
In other news... Wendy and I did a couple of water over the road crossings, but had to back track and detour for 3 hrs as the last one was too deep.

I am settling well in Tassie and am starting to explore her plethora of nooks and crannies with the views of RTEs and other gatherings.
The scenery here is beyond amazing! The roads are are absolutely sublime from a MC rider's point of view, and the air, water and produce are the freshest in the universe!
