2017 NatRally Saturday RTE - Nearest-the-Pin
« on: September 28, 2017, 07:39:18 AM »
Okay ladies & gents, the first person (apart from the organisers) to nominate the Saturday RTE venue, gets a schooner (or similar drink of their choice) on me.   In the event that the exact location is not nominated, nearest-the-pin gets it.

I'll kick this off with the Pacific Hotel, Yamba, ie. venue and town - http://www.pacifichotelyamba.com.au/

Knock yourselves out.

I suppose winner won't be announced until around midday Saturday 21 October 2017.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Geeez!  Hard work keeping-up all of the threads and posts.

Probably the quickest game ever - only lasted 44 minutes.

If they have XXXX on tap, one schooner coming your way at the RTE.

PS.  I was hoping to have a bit more fun for my $6 or $8 what's a schooner these days?).

Seems a shame to waste a good thread, and seeing as the Pacific Hotel at Yamba -  http://www.pacifichotelyamba.com.au/ - looks like such a nice place:

So, who's up from a long ride to the RTE, something along the lines of?

Only an extra 50km each way or so, depending on the route.

Nice try at rescuing your game from the smoking ruins!     :crackup

Goodonya for coming up with a fun plan, but I think I'll go the inland route to Lawrence.  Although your road is one I haven't been on.  I have seen the highway a couple of times  :whistle

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

The road sort of follows the Clarence River, with a couple of ferry crossings, one at Ulmarra, and the other at Lawrence, it's a very pretty, peaceful, slow ride along narrow good quality sealed roads.

The ferry rides were a nice change of pace too.

Ulmarra:

Lawrence:

I'm looking forward to riding it again, one way or the other.

Hmmmmm ........ is it just me, or have the pics disappeared for others?

Edit:  Pics seem fine now, must've been a temporary spat with Photobucket.

Nice trailer too!  Your build?

I'm not any where near clever to build something like that, hence the Classic.  It served us well, many trips over the three or four years we had it.   The Mighty CB towed it very well, but when we decided to upgrade to the Elite camper trailer, the CB was too light, hence the ST1300.  The ST / Elite combo has served us well, many trips with many more to come.  It won't be coming to Wooli, overnight accommodation for the 12 day trip will be in pubs, motels and cabins.

Nope... not my build, but generally Kate's handiwork with the brush... we posted about our trailer here  http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=11415.msg1210165#msg1210165

We too looked at the option of the roof-top tent, but decided to stay with our standard 10-man tent, on the basis of size and weight... we divide our holiday trips between touring with Darth (gone over to the darkside) Scarlett and Rolling Thunder, or venturing further afield with our car and caravan.
