Mornin' all...
Well this is a first...03:45 and reading flamin' emails n forum threads, dont want to make a habit of this! But I am awake and as nursing interests have shifted from me willy and what was residing in the little fella, to the now daily copious amonts of pee the wee bloke is producing. Funny how the female mind can shift. But I digress.
Had the plural (garden size) drain hoses and extra plural line removed from my chest yesterday, along with the fentanyl iv (will miss those perverse n wired dreams
)...and as mentioned the urine cath, so spose
norms of willy's leadership roles are returned as per the rest of the male population...he so hated being lead around by the nose
Anyway still in ICU until they find me a bed on a general ward later today...have declined the offer to be returned to a rehab hospital, so will use the remainder of the week in convincing the Docs to discharge me home and to get a local physio involved in the rehab process. Just miss being able to sit outside within arms reach of me beer frigde I guess.
As before, ta muchly for the thoughts and messages, back ni ni's for the now day only person as I gave up this night shift lark 8 years + ago
TTFN
the can :-)
PS...have yet to see the nuero surgeon, but the radiology report from my CT scan of the brain showed no further complications with regards to the R sub dural haematoma I sustained in the crash.
Now I mention this for no other reason other than to pass on that I was wearing a brand new off road Australian Standards approved helmet AND my off was between 10 & 20kph...that's all. My helmet was (getting AJ1300 to destroy it), of a cheap polycarbonate type shell...instead of absorbing the energy, it transferred it into my brain. I take full resonsability for purchasing such a cheap hemet and on it's first outting it came close to killing me, or at best, leaving me with and acquired brain injury. I have had an extremely lucky escape. I wont be by making the same mistake again!
Please, check your helmets ;-)
