Pirelli Angels

Has anyone got an opinion on the Pirelli Angels? Would love to hear your thoughts or experience with these tyres.

Yeah hi. I'm running one on the front. I had it put on in Perth as it was all they had in stock at the time of my passing through (or that's what they told me). I've always liked Pirelli's so didn't argue. It cost A$221 but I don't have a feel for Oz tyre prices. After Perth I rode the bendy WA south-west corner (Margaret River, Albany etc) and the bike felt 'ok' but I was running a crap rear tyre at the time, a Continental Motion, which I'd had since Mt Isa and this had lost its shape by the time I got to Perth. The Angel didn't wear excessively going across the Nullabor and felt good on the bends of the Great Ocean Road. I've now got a decent Bridgestone Battlax on the back and have been riding this combination on wet New Zealand winter roads for about 4 weeks now. The bike's handing as good as anything I've ridden. Long story short, I love the Angel / Bridgestone combination.

Hey Thanks Rob,

I'm running the Angel ST on the front and the Battlax BT23 on the rear. I like the Pirelli and find it stays exactly where I want it on corners and roundabouts and find the rear seems to wander out a little especally on the roundabouts. Bit disconcerting at the moment, and surprised me the first tme.

But the front is a great improvement on the BT21 I was running.

Haven't had any experience with the Angel ST's on my ST1300 but I'm on my third set on my FJR1300.  I rate them very highly, they have a nice neutral feel with plenty of grip in the wet or dry.  They have good bump absorption and wear as well as the PR2's and they don't suffer from sudden drop in when cornering like the worn PR2's do.  Just waiting to wear down my current set of 023's and I'll be replacing them with Angel ST's.

I'll be putting an Angel ST on the rear as soon as the BT023 needs replacing. Thanks for yur info, when I originally post my question I was still deciding which tyre to place on the bike.

Looks like I made the right decision.
