Wendy left Darwin at 0400hrs yesterday (14th Oct) and is heading for Port Augusta. I've just twigged that she seems to be on track for a IBA Centreline 36, so long as she arrives in Port Augusta before 1600hrs today.
Here's a link to her Spot. https://tinyurl.com/yddg94z6
Take care Wendy. :thumb

In a last minute decision, I've decided to ride up to Port Augusta to meet Wendy, and will be leaving home in the next half hour. :grin ++

I didn't know she was this far down. How does spotwalla work?

I spoke with Wendy as she arrived in Coober Pedy about 9 am Sydney time. She is taking a longer break, having coffee and maybe bacon & eggs as she got chills earlier and lost her mojo. She will be posting on Facebook during her stop here.
I Alice Springs yesterday she had electrical problems which were sorted out by her friend. Then her LEDs didn't want to work so Trevor got them sorted and she was finally able to leave to head into the night, but running late.
Wendy said she may stay in Port Augusta with friends when she arrives later today instead of riding to Melbourne as she would have to ride 24 hrs to make it on time..
Pete I'm sure she'd appreciate seeing you in P.A when she arrives. :thumb

4pm NSW time I spoke with Wendy as she was refuelling in Port AuguSTa, STinky Pete met her juST south of Pimba 370k's (ish) (well it seemed like that to Wendy) north of P.A. and having someone else with her has refreshed her spirit to continue to try and make her 50CC to Melbourne. Wendy successfully completed her Centreline36, and has had it signed off by witnesses. :clap.
Wendy and Pete have continued south towards Adelaide where Pete will peel off and Wendy will STop in on friends for coffee before heading eaST and into Victoria.
Bike is running well and she is confident of completing her gruelling IBA Centreline 50CC. :thumb
I'll next speak with her later this evening to check on her wellbeing and will report again then..

I arrived home about half an hour ago, after riding north to meet Wendy. We crosssed paths about 125km north of Port Augusta, so I turned around and led Wendy back into Port Augusta. We had a chat for a little while and then headed towards Adelaide as she continued her longer IBA challenge. I stopped at Port Wakefield for a "comfort" stop and a coffee, while Wendy continued on to keep to her pre-planned schedule. It was wonderful to catch up, and I'm back home after a solid 900km day.
Ride Safe Wendy on the rest of your adventure. :thumb

Well done Pete. ++. Safe riding Wendy.

How does spotwalla work?
"Spot" is a small portable device which requires a yearly subscription to use the tracking service. It transmits your position every ten minutes, which then get displayed on a Google Map style of application. Spot also includes emergency facilities, much like a personal EPIRB. Many long distance riders use Spot. "Bubbler" is a smart phone application that will do similar job, so long as your phone is turned on and you are in a service area.

Spotwalla is a web site run by LD rider Jason Jonas as a free service to anyone using any of the many satellite tracking devices such as SPOT, DeLorme InReach, Bubbler etc.... It has the advantage of being forever unlike most device mapping pages which have a 1-3 month expiry on your trips. I have trips dating back to 2010 still on Spotwalla. It further allows you to publicly or privately display your trip and its content such as speed etc...It also has the ability to set a "secure" zone say within 5kms of your house that will never display. Whilst it is a free service and site, the majority of us donate the equivilant of 1 tank of fuel each new year to help out. Jason does not solicit donations and will respond within 24hrs should you need any assistance. Very easy to set up which can be found here https://spotwalla.com/help/devices.php
Cheers
