Does anyone here use Spotwalla with Bubbler GPS on an android device? I've tried to give it a go but can't get it to work.
-
Many in the LD Community use bubbler on Spotwalla....have you followed the setup "Creating & Updating a Bubbler GPS Device" as detailed on this page??? https://spotwalla.com/help/devices.php#update-bubbler
-
Yes, I did all that.
-
Yes, I did all that.
OK so next question is have you created a trip with start and finish times??? And then did you trigger it say 12hrs before so that Spotwalla sees it as active device and then starts pinging for it regularly???
-
Closer to about eight hours but everything else I did. I'll stick with the greenalp app I've been using as I know it works.
-
Can only suggest flicking Jason an email via the contact page and I am sure he'll sort it for you as he always seems to...
-
It took me a little while, but I got it working.
I've even managed to change phones and keep it working.

I've got a red button here but don't know how to change it.
-
And when I open that I get this.
-
I had the same problem.
From memory, you have to go to the Spotwalla website and add/register your phone as a device.
After you login:

Add:

Choose type:

Give it a name.
Open to Bubbler
Click on the device button:

Select your device:

and it should turn green.

Hope that helps.

I've done the website part but my tablet won't show the devices.
-
Same login on both?

I am a loss as to what the issue is. Phone and tablet both having the same problem.
-
At the next RTE hopefully you can go through it with someone who's done it and get it fixed.
-
It's for that trip I was hoping to get it running.
-
After getting home and having a computer with a decent screen and keyboard I sent an email off to both Bubbler and Spotwalla. Hopefully one of them reply.
-
Is StinkyPete reasonably close? He might be able to help.

I had hoped either Bubbler or Spotwalla would have replied to the email by now.

I assume that you have the "Data Usage"setting on your phone tuned on. Other than that, I'm not sure I can help.
-
It's a tablet with a data sim card, and yes data is on.

I also assume the GPS function is on.
-
Yes. Both bubbler and my other gps app (greenalp) are storing points, but bubbler is not conveying them to spotwalla.

Bodo when I had spot/ bubbler trouble Brian Crawford helped get it sorted. I think his OzSTOC forum name is Farkleit. maybe give him a PM and see if he can get it sorted for you.
Did you enable web API in your devices. Click on your device and a drop down menu has the options Web API is 2nd last .
-
Thanks to everyone but I have got it sorted. It would appear bubbler doesn't like the character ø.
Live a critic, diacritic. :grin

Very clever pun.
I'm with Bubbler. Never had a use for ø except to distinguish zero from the letter "o". :p
That's the penalty for being different. :grin
-
I'm pleased that you have sorted it, as it had to be something simple. :thumb
-
Øh dear!
Glad it is sorted.
Hopefully Spotwalla and/or Bubbler can be modified to accept international characters.

how/where do you type ø from, I copy/paSTed it here. I've never seen that on any of my puters but I'm fairly illiterate with computers. :CB--

Find your Character Map and then dig. Plenty of funny characters in there.
I go there whenever I want the ¢ character.
You likee Ƣ or Ƨ

Change your language to Japanese and it opens up a whole new world. ☣

I press and hold "o" on the phone and the "o" variants pop up. These are the irons, Œ ő ø ö õ ô óò the last two are 'supprising' together. :grin

It's working now so I have it running when I head off for Halls Gap next week.

..........so I have it running when I head off for Halls Gap next week.
If you go next week, you'll be lonely and two weeks early. :crackup

Jason said that his software has no problem with it and that it's Bubbler that does (which is out of his control).
