I'm very keen to get away and hit the road after a trying week, and am going via the Vic Blackwood RTE.   Therefore today is shopping and packing day, as I still have other business to attend to for the rest of the week.  I'm leaving Friday around lunch time and will overnight at Halls Gap.

Can I assume that we will have a dinner and briefing with all the adventurers on Friday evening at the Bosun's Inn?

Home to Halls Gap is 500km or a very easy six hours, with over half of it being 110km/h.   I should be into Halls Gap before roo o'clock and at least an hour and a half before sunset.   :thumb

Over 95 percent would be 110.   It was a pretty easy run and I would have had a far better OA than 93km/h if the last hour back across the city wasn't stop-start peak hour traffic.

Pete, I don't think I will make Blackwood as I get back tomorrow and have to do a few things before leaving for the iba. The offer of staying in Canberra still stands

Heads up I drove from Ballarat to Ararat the other week... lots of road works expect delays, I get the impression they are finally building a freeway to SA. Although I can't figure out why :p

Almost ready, just waiting for speedo drive parts to arrive from Blue City Honda, had to go to Dubbo last Friday and the Metal drive spacer in the front tyre snapped in 3 places, first ride since having a new tyre fitted.... This may have been from the tyre fitter or just old age.
Im leaving Canberra next Thursday and the plan is to get past newcastle and find a motel, then just a leisurely ride to coffs on Friday.

Guys,
If everyone is around we will have a quick chat, at the Bosuns, however some may like to head off and put their heads down.  We will all need to meet over at the start point about 20 mins before departure to complete start sheets check odometers etc.  we will then, at the start time send riders off in twos or threes with a couple of minutes split.  The rest of the ride is up to you, collect and log receipts, stops over 20 min etc (as per the IBA website).....it will be a hoot  :runyay

Thanks for the head's up Marcus.   The freeway would be for you to come to beautiful SA, and not for us to escape east.    :crackup :crackup

I'm really looking forward to this. :runyay

I was going to reprogram my CB to Narrowband.  Set up the program and made all the changes in the software, and do you think I can find my programming cable.  I know it is here somewhere. Anyway it works, and I'm hoping to have mine scanning 13, 18, 29 and 40.  I hope I find the cable before Thursday morning.

I'm planning on heading down Thursday so I can rest Friday, before the big day.

Did anyone else get an IBA email today?
Cheers,
Gary

Thank you Lionel :thumb

Yes if we could all bring the original waivers that would be great.  I can then store them with all the other documentation and keep them for the required time, as per the IBA requirements.
