You're the ultimate Free Man, Diesel!
Us married men would have to come up with a VERY good story to go off for 24 hours on our own like that!

"Why do you want to do that?"

"Can I come too?"

"What's wrong with you?"

"Don't expect to come back and find dinner ready!!"

etc
etc

Hmmmm...........   :think1    ...

Have you ever just wanted to throw your camping gear on the bike and go somewhere?  Nowhere in particular - just somewhere???

I might do this.

Last time, it was a 900km loop around to Texas. Dinner at the pub and a $10 campsite at the local caravan park with shower etc.

Just sat outside the tent late at night by myself, under a full moon on a warm, still night - then a great morning ride to brekky, and eventually home!      :thumb

This is why we didn't buy GSXR's folks!        :wink1

Cheers, Diesel
I'd love to, but I've got something worse than a partner to justify myself to, I've got a teenager and a pre-teen......

Another few years and I'll just be able to take off like that  :well Waiting :well Waiting  :well Waiting

So I cooked myself a "South African" curry tonight, instead of the usual Sub Continental style. Have to say - It was YUMMY!       :eat :eat :eat

Wonder if it will have the same effects tho?      :butt               :fp

Hmmm.  Looove casseroled drumsticks.

My Missus just bought one of those new-fangled Thermomixes.
If you've never heard of them, they're apparently the ant's nickers for cooks.  Do everything except the washing up, so I'm told.
So at least I still have a use in the kitchen.

Thermomix

They cost two grand, so I've got a fair few farkle points in credit as of today   :grin

I cook up similar curry/casserole based dish quite a bit, modified so my wife can have it as well (minimal fat, no real hot spices etc - I use the extras to make quite hot things for me)  The tagine is a great dish to use, and I have a Japanese clay pot that work really well and keeps the food hot. More recently I am dabbling with sous vide cooking, having purchased a vacuum sealer.

I had some OzSTOC business to attend to at a meeting in Esk with Streak and Teela on the weekend - and decided to get it all off for the event!        :eek

Settle down groupies! I meant I removed the Airhawk and Sheepskin cover, and was left with only the custom JM seat. Previously I had thought that the custom seat was still too firm - but looks like it may have settled down as it was a pleasure to sit on (for 270kms) and my  :butt  smiled the whole time.

Still had the Airhawk in the pannier for back-up - but there it stayed.       :thumb

I think my FarWeapon is finally complete. All systems work beautifully and reliably, and the bike is ergonomically set to be very comfortable for this happy camper!       :runyay

But YoungOne has got me interested in trying a set of lowered footpegs tho.        :fp

Planning a little adventure, Diesel?

There are easier places to test your equipment.   >:()

So... last week - Mrs Diesel and I are bucketing water up the paddock to water trees that were literally on their last legs, and in need of a drink.....    :cuss

Now, we are bucketing snorkels up there so they can breathe!!!!      :|||| :|||| :||||

Aaah Queensland, drought one day, floods the next!      >:()

Seriously tho, apart from a lake for a yard and branches down, and power off for the day, we got out of this OK compared to some. Hope everyone out there has faired well.

Still more possible trouble to come. STay safe all.    :thumbs

We survived the storms quite well, the only damage we ended up with was a broken television antenna and a portion of our fence blown over.

I hope everyone is okay >:()

Well - Streak and I are holed up in the truckies lounge at a truck stop in Glen Innes. It is absolutely pelting down in a lightning storm outside. We made it with so little time to spare, that we even moved the STs to shelter before paying. Could be worse.  Lol. Sposed to be 65 clicks up the road at Inverell, but safety first. Will keep you updated.

A turbo-prop aircraft just flew over the property on its way to land in Brizvegas - got me thinking....   :think1 ....

Why... if they've gone to the trouble of fitting jet engines to a plane... don't they use the thrust it produces to fly the aircraft, instead of it merely driving a prop shaft?    :think1

Surely the performance gain and lack of extra moving parts would be a benefit?

This should bring out the grey matter gods of the forum!    :-++
