So.......how many kilometres do you manage to scrape out of your tires?

20 K out of set of PR3's. On a set of Pr4's now to see how they go for longevity. They are great in the wet :clap

When I bought The PR3s (on special run out price) I expected an improvement over the Bridgestones. The rear one has just done a couple hundred over 7,000km after todays run and might make 8 or 9,000km. It's maybe more due to towing the trailer as it's the softer side compound that's worn rather than the centre tread.

Perhaps it's low tyre pressures that are contributing to the side wear. Since you tow and ride mostly two-up, my unsolicited advice would be to run them at at least 44psi.

Pr3's on the old Hi Ho silver :slvr13 - high 20's 1up.
Pirelli Angel GT's on the new blues mobile :blu13 - lucky to get 10k out of them :eek
Have a set of PR4's on now ....hope to get into the 20's again.

Angel GT's - first set around 20 - 25K this set still going around 10K at the moment on the front one, rear is newish possible 3 - 5k

Looked at the rear this morning and no worse than what it was before leaving; only the two of us on board this time. Will try 46 next time the trailer is on.

I struggled to get over 10k out of a set of Angel GT's (2 up)
Got 16k out of the rear on PR4's. Front would easily do over 20k but I prefer to change them both at the same time.

About 20k on set of angel gt's didn't like them in the wet though. Pr4 gt's on it now and wet riding is easy :-)

That's a good set of km's!
Are you an aggressive rider? a medium rider? or a bit of a grandpa going to the TAB rider?
Also do you have good maintenance regarding tire pressure?

I would class myself as a medium rider but some may call me a grandpa rider especially the younger riders on sports bikes
I usually don't go hard off the lights or anything like that
Just enjoy the ride :like

We have just completed a trip around the south island and managed 15000ks on angel GTS which included 4000ks full load. South island has fairly coarse chip on the roads. We are now on the second set of GTS, which I found good in wet weather. My previous tyres were Metzlers Z8s good tyres but 11-12000ks in a set

The last tire I put on the grey 1100 I olny got 3000 km towing a Traler around Sydney Dunlop GPR 300

Bridgestone PR4-GT ~15k (rear) & 22k+ (front).
Need to be vigilant with tyre pressures. One trip i had a strong side wind on a very straight road (Stuart Hwy SA) and this wore the softer compound side of the tyre out.

I generally get between 10 and 12k out of a set of tyres. This is low compared to some others however I do ride hard on the ranges up here and there is a lot of hard braking and acceleration which is the biggest cause of tyre wear. Riding gently to maximise tyre life is a boring way to go for me. I also get rid of them when they get to the wear indicators because my life isn't worth pushing them till the tread is totally wiped off. Since I get through about one set of tyres a year I don't comsider it that bad.

I got better than 30,000 from my last set of PR3s, with PR4s currently doing nicely. I'm hoping to improve on my world record. ;-)
And no, I don't fang it.

I have just got over 30,000km on a set of pirelli angel gt, I am now looking for some new tyres, will probably stick with the angel gt.

Back was replaced after 6 k as got puncture
Hoping to get 30 k + out of front PR4 :grin

Just over 21000km from Michelin PR4 GTs, probably would have got more but for strong crosswinds going to Port Augusta on the way to Perth rally. At times the bike was leaning over on straight stretch and steering down the camber. Effectively chewed out softer compound on the sides as per Sim's comment. New PR4s just done 2500km to Harrington and back.

The rear PR3 managed 8504 km before being replaced even with the increase in tyre pressure to 45psi.
The front is still on and due for replacement at 14765 km - not quite down to wear bars yet so maybe another 1000 km to go at 38 PSI.
The current rear is a Bridgestone T30 Evolution and that so far has managed 8087 km running at 45 psi and looks about half worn.
I have Dunlop Roadsmart 2 (front) and Roadsmart 3 (rear) waiting to go on.

I used run 36 front and 42 rear but it was suggested that I increase a little to take into account the extra weight on board.

Generally on cars you're given two air pressure guides (unladen and loaded) but the same figure is given for both on bikes.

Draco and I were talking to a motorcycle tire guy a little while ago and he said that running 42 front and rear was recommended for most conditions :thumbsup
But if you want best mileage run 50 to 55 :eek
This will lower the heat in the tire but will also lower the grip, on the plus side the tire life will greatly improve :hatwave
Personally I run 42 front and 45 rear and find this is working out great so far :grin

PR4's have now done 27k proberly get them changed at 30k but will see then
Had a look with Shiney at the Esk RTE they are getting close to wear mark
Depends how far I want to push them :law

I have a Dunlop Roadsmart 3 waiting to go on.
This one should be get changed over next week as it's just got to the wear bars. Makes it around 9300km until the speedo cable broke (on order) and maybe about another 3 to 4 hundred km since then.
