Title: What are you listening to now?
Post by: Bodø on October 12, 2019, 11:18:15 AM: I've pulled out one of my old U2 bootlegs (from the era before they turned to garbage) and had it on this morning. It's an unoffical release from 1984 or 1985 of a live show in Rotterdam.

I never knew they were called The English Beat in the US until I saw this episode of Bands Reunited. To me they were always just The Beat.

When my daughter was an 8month old we filmed a video of her bopping along to ‘Rise’. Now her daughter is 5 months old so we thought we would see how she responded. We did get a bit of a head jiggle but I’d say there is more to come....

I have a bit of an audiophile interest going on at my place, and recently I built myself a set of unusual looking speakers and a DSP+ 6-channel Class-D amplifier that’s sounds better than anything else I’ve owned before. Any like-minders out there?

Post by: Bodø on April 20, 2020, 12:42:12 AM: If you heard traditional Japanese radio you'd know why cable radio was awesome. Until J-wave came along few radio stations actually played music. It was mostly talk. FEN (ran by the amercian military bases) played music but their DJ's were cringeworthy.

This week it's Alan Parsons. His production and mastering skills are just fantastic, and he sounds so much better now than he did on the cheap turntable and tiny speakers I had back then.

Buck Tick is very hit and miss. I like a lot of their stuff, but they have also put out a lot of stuff I don't like. I saw them live in the late eighties. Thirty years on they're still going.
