Title: Inspection - 07 Honda Goldwing Trike - Lavington NSW
Post by: Gerard & Sandra on September 28, 2021, 09:19:18 AM
Looking for a favour please. Blacklocks Motorcycles are holding a Goldwing Trike for us and I ask if there is someone in the Albury area that may be able to run their lamps over the bike and be our eyes and ears. It has only done 437 (genuine) k's and the price seems to be OK.
The Dealer has given us a day or so to pay a deposit and firm up the order.

That is a nice looking bike. Good luck with it.

That trike setup is a kit that looks quite interesting, and they have one for the STeeds, in both sizes.

There has been safety issues with these detachable kits in the past, mostly due to main rear wheel still being present. I would be seriously considering a proper trike conversion.

Didn't pick that it was only an add on still retaining the original rear wheel
I remember seeing a Wedgetail that was set up like that
Could be a pain when you go to replace the rear tyres

They claim that it can be removed in a few minutes to go back to a standard bike. I would love to see one up close, to be honest.

What sort of problems?

Hmmm, so it's got 4 wheels, so it's now officially a car...  :spank

Seriously though, I can see it having issues with how it rides, especially on rough roads... :o

Thanks to all for your comments which on top of what I have found out from other sources makes us think it not for us. Think we will run with our original plan of having our Goldwing converted to a trike by Scotts Trike Conversions WYEE

Hi Gerard, Just sent you a text, hope it is not too late for the trike and that it didn't wake you. oops just read the entire post to see it is not a trike.
