Title: Earth/grounding of radiator fan
Post by: Ajay on December 01, 2021, 06:04:28 AM
Hi all, could someone please explain to me how the radiator fan motor achieves earth. There’s an earth connection to the fan mount to the radiator but what I don’t understand is how that is connected to the frame with the radiator being aluminium and the radiator mounting points being rubber? Hopefully this an easy answer for an amateur and TIA.

Just a quick guess that there are metal bolts through the centre of rubber grommets used as shock mounts for the radiator.

Or inside moulded rubber mounts, there is a flexible braid connecting the two bolts.

Awaiting info from someone who has removed them.

I would have thought that the power/earth would be part of the wiring loom! :grin

It earths through the thermostat switch, that is how the fan doesn't run until up to temp
