Title: Leaking Pannier Seals on a 1995 ST1100
Post by: Garry_Coates on March 12, 2022, 04:47:36 PM
 Hi,

my 1995 ST1100 pannier seals have starting leaking in heavy rain after 200,000+ km of continuous use. I think the seals are supposed to allow the water to run down the channels out through the rectangular gaps in the bottom. Water ends up in the lids only.  There is a part number for later (1997 onwards) models but looks expensive for a bit of rubber.

Some questions:

1. Has anybody replaced them for the early models (pre-97)? Would you know the dimensions of the rubber seal that would work? I would prefer to know this before trying to remove the old ones and then finding it hard to get replacements.

2. Any quick fixes worth considering? Yes I know about waterproof bags.

Regards

Maybe worth a look in Clark rubber to see if they have any seals that may do the job
