Thanks to WestOz Glen, who loaned me an OEM Harness, I will soon be able to manufacture a harness. Cost should be in the order of $40.00 plus postage I think (need to work it out, have to take currency exchange into account), I would also be able to make custom length cables with fittings as required. Costing would depend on wire length and fittings required. The Plastic boot may not be included, probably just get in the way.

Sounds like a brilliant arrangement. You could add an appropriate amount for rehydration medicine and you'll have a lot of keen customers.
Might have bitten off more than you'd want to chew, though.

Brocky boyo, will these have Honda connectors so we are limited to OEM parts, heaters radios etc or will the extras have some sort of "common/universal" outlet

Ian, If I can jump in before Brock responds, there 'aint no such thing as a 'common/universal connector', and every connector has different pin assignments. The connectors on the Honda Quartet Harness are actually Hitachi connectors, and are about as common as vehicle connectors get, and I'm fairly sure that Brock can provide the diagram of which pin is which in each of the free connectors.

If by common/universal you mean can be found in Repco, then no. The standard Quartet Harness comes with hitachi connectors a s Whizz said. However, as I will be making the Harness, I can put whatever connection you want. The pricing may vary slightly tho. I can even make the Harness longer to reach the seat, include water resistant fuse holders, or wire it for a particulr application thats wanted. Give me diagram of the wiring you want and the plugs and I will build it.

Not enough knowledge abt connectors so will go check to see what hitachi look like.
My bike had the spots put on by one person, the radio attached by another so wires everywhere. Partly my fault cause asked for connections to be after battery/ignition so they just found live wires.
would like a nice tidy setup (following Diesels example) but need someone with the knowledge.
Just got word and stuff back from Dale Mclean, crimped wires probably from bad placement had kyboshed my uhf and ph connections.
Nice little 7mm sleeve waiting for them when they arrive back.

OK I am a newbie yet to learn from the forum sages. So what is a quartet harness? I thought I got away from horses two years ago.

On the left side of the bike and under the fairing, is an electrical plug plug/socket, which is designed to accept the "quartet harnass" which is a small wiring loom, which has four plugs, and which you can use for powering accessories.

It is a wiring harness for up to 4 accessories. It plugs into an existing plug on the bike and then has 4 plugs for the accessories. Output can be always on, on with ignition, on with ignition or acc points chosen with the ign key,
The 4 accessories are from Honda are heated grips, AM/FM radio, OEM Alarm System and Cigarette/powerlette power outlet.
When I bought mine a couple of months ago it cost around $65 from local Honda dealer.

Hey Brock,
When I fit the OEM quartet harness I had trouble finding the hitachi connectors, so reluctantly I had to cut the connector I wanted to use off and wire in a new male female connector.
Could I suggest that when you make the "Brock Harness" that either the hitachi connector be supplied (if you can find a supplier) or a new male and female connector be supplied.
These are the connectors I couldn't match, so I cut of the connector to the wire I was using and place a new male/female connector purchased from the local auto elect.

I will supply the matching end, or can make up what ever is wanted to length as well. Still need to order some wire and more plugs

I'm trying to get some wiring from the front of the bike to the battery, as part of installing a pair of Dually D2 LED driving lights, and a thought occurred to me. Can I use the red connector on the Quartett Harness to power these spots? The red connector is designed to connect to a Powerlet type outlet.
Specs for D2's show that they draw about 2 Amps each, but the fuse in the supplied Dually D2 wiring harness has a 15 Amp fuse. I have no idea what the power rating is for the Quartett Harnass.

I'm just after a replica of what the standard is (4 plugs, I think, but if more are added I won't mind :think1) however if you could add Repco ends that would be awesome :thumb

The 4 plugs being what the standard one is should work without issue and I'd imagine would be easier to wire up, and as for the length, a short one would be fine as anything I wire in can always be made a bit longer if needed :thumb
But I'm happy to go with what ever length works for Brock :thumbs

First custom harness, 500 mm long. The 2 pin and 3 pin plugs are available in Repco, and the 9 pin is a standard Hitachi .110 plug(socket)

The good thing Gavo, is that I can make one to your needs. You could have a lead taking power (and turn signals) to the rear under the seat, and/or up to the front under the dash. Even with extra relays switching high draw battery power for powering driving lights etc.
This one is for Shiney, just need to work out the pricing and do up a connection chart. Due to wire availability, the colours codes are a bit different..
