So i am thinking about having a name for my little beastie.
I have asked the kids to help me but they keep coming up with bizaare kiddie type names that are about three paragraphs long.
Feel free to help me name my bike...... she ( i have taken to considering her a female ) is blue, not so young but a steady work horse.
Also feel free to put the name you (or someone else) chose for your STeed.
-
So far in over eight years mine hasn't been named though I use "She" and a few other female pronouns plus "It" quite often.
-
The official Honda colour for my bike is Sienna Gold, so since sienna is a brown colour I've called mine Golden Brown, as in the Stranglers song (yeah I know the song is about heroin but riding the ST is sort of addicitve therefore it's sort of appropriate). Since yours is blue you could call it Blue STeel. Pretty obvious and someone else may have used it, maybe someone else will chime in with some other suggestion.

Nope, nor my other bike or any of my cars or any of my trailers or even my pushbikes . . Not even my house . . Apart from Number 5 . . My partner has a name but she came with it already in use . . 😊

Had that happen in my car . . It ran up the inside of the windscreen and disapeared somewhere above my head . . That was bad enough . . Quick braking out the door . . Torch . . Hunting . . No joy . . Scary ride the rest of the way home . .

Pan the cruise missile. (as in Peter Pan) takes me away on wild adventures. :grin
-
Spalding ..... from the Madagascar movie when the zebra turns around and says "shut up Spalding" (Castaway play on words) as it groans on hot days and after a ride and often the three of us will hear it and yell out in unison ... "shut up Spalding".

:dred11
HE is named STranger, :grin
-
As in "STranger than fiction"?
-
Ours is STig......not from Top Gear :Stirpot
STig is an old Norse boys name meaning "the wanderer".....fitting for a Sports Tourning bike we think :like

I'm still deciding, and since I'm not a fan of bling I'm a bit reluctant.
However, my kids would like to see my ST called "Red Dwarf" but I'm not sure which character that would make me!. I'm leaning towards "RedRunner" a play on RoadRunner, with the accompanying graphic.

Mine is not very original. Ruby.

My ST goes by the name Black Caviar :grin
My old ST was called Big Red but was often called Heinz
by my mates :fp

There's a few Rubys around, mine included. But mostly when I want to address her it's less of a name that comes to mind and more likely a term of disapproval or affection.

Wyvern is my proud red dragon.

And amazingly, I found a wood-carved statue of a Wyvern dragon for $20 in the Gong's Gumtree ads, cleaned it up and applied some red stain and Buzzingah!!! I have an actual Wyvern and an icon representing my local footy team the ST.George/Illawarra Dragons.
:runyay :hatwave

And BTW Mother Terese thinks Wyvern the STatue is gruesome and scary - but what can I say - a dragon STatue is always goin 2 b intimidatin' ain't it? Unlike Wyvern the STeed that's STable, SToic and STylish.

My ST1300 is known as "Patch", due the one mismatching colour mirror pod

Nice Dragon, Gregory . .

Thnx Terry, Wyvern the STeed reckons he's alright 2 tho!
Zev, that's one heck of a STeed u have there - unusual shade of red called ???, custom seat, blade pegs - looks gr8.
-
thanks Greg, the color is OEM, the seat is Sargent and the blades are MCL. many other additions as well.

That's the one they call "Wineberry". There are a few around. Diesel has one.
The brighter red is "Candy Glory Red"- it has the metal flake the other doesn't.
-
Thnx Bill, Wyvern is Candy Glory Red with metal flake as is Ruby, (although Wyvern is a 2003 and I think Ruby is a 2009? - so the colour is probably different).
Maybe Wyvern and Ruby should correspond - shame Ruby is a banana-bender and Wyvern a Mexican tho - makes dating difficult and the prospect of little Honda postie bikes running around unlikely!
:p :rofl

Ruby is a bit of a cougar, so older bikes aren't going to get a look-in. :-(((

Like STroppy I don't name my bikes or other vehicles. A rational reason why people do that is not obvious to me.
Similarly I don't understand why people change perfectly good place names to childish ones; e.g., Brisbane to Brissie.
Rant over.
Double demerit points ended at midnight last night. Time to ride.
-
Explains why lawyers don't relate to normal people that well :rofl I can understand it, but don't do it (much like many other things!)

It's obvious. If you don't name them how do they know which one you are talking to? ;-*
MYST, Get off Little Mango or STEN will run his K60's up your panniers. EHOG stop laffin!
-
:rofl
-
Haven't named mine to date, but it will be STorm
The reason will be obvious after it is repainted (which will not be before Toowoomba). Will post pics when done.
Cheers
Grumpy :grin :bl11
