So now I am new to this area in Mt Gambier is there anywhere I can go to get new pads fitted, cos the last ones fitted were crap, Dynotune really screwed me over and looks like added third party pads at a total cost of $30. So any advice would be great thanks, unless of course you'd like to help me install them then even better and help me understand the whole process of not being scared to fix things on my bike.

Brake pads are a pretty straight forward install. It is not a job to be concerned about as long as you have some standard tools and some cleaning rags etc. I purchase my pads etc from Metalgear and delivery is lightning fast. Once I received the goods before the charge hit the credit card account.

my advice is to stick with the ORIGINAL HONDA brake pads as not all after-market pads are comparable with the rotor material...
Years ago, I wore out the rotors on a Suzuki GSX750ES when using Ferredo and other after-market pads, due to this issue.
The stopping power of the OEM is great, repeatable with very little fade.
You can purchase the pads from "BlueCity Honda" locally, or ebay. (ebay UK seems to be cheapest due to shipping at the moment I think)

you will need brake spray cleaner (Bendix) Marine grease (for the pad pin), Blue locktite (for the pad pin thread) a socket driver set, Alan socket (for the pad pin), a torque wrench, old toothbrush an air compressor (nice if you have one but not a must) and clean rags.

With all this effort and having no idea what I am doing I will just find a bike shop and get them to do it, id like it done at least before March so I can go to Toowoomba as long as I can find others to ride with. I am truly pumped for that.

Bluecity want to charge $430 to put the brakes on, im wondering if its that much because this is a country town and there isnt much else around so they charge heaps. Still looking.
The Ebay link above says for 2008 onwards, mine is 2004, so that wont work correct?

I would ring motogc in Thomastown, Melbourne and Motoadelaide and get a price from them.mthat will give you an idea if Bluecity are overcharging

Front pads for 2004 A4 from Blue City are PAD SET, F.. 06455-MCS-G02 1 110.42 a pair.......for front equals $220.84 plus rear PAD SET, R.. 06435-MCS-G02 1 110.42 or about $332 just for the pads
2008 ones are a little cheaper but different part numbers.

So get these, then get them installed at a local bike shop if you don't want to do it yourself (That's what I have done in the past... although I might give the install a go myself next time :thumb)
