Ceduna to Border Village today with some rain, lightening around the ears, cooler weather and a scotch mist that reduced visibilty to 50 metres at times  :eek
Here we sheltered under cover while a storm passed over

Nullabor signs

Checked out the head of the bight

Nullabor sights

Just had a great meal at Border village with a few ales to boot :-) along with Popeye and Chris, Terry & Jill, Lionel who came a long way to join us. Its a cool breeze tonight although the mist has lifted.
Cheers

The area which you passed through today has memories for me. Just over 41 years ago that I had an incident with a kangaroo west of Yalata, which required me being transported some 200 odd kilometres to Ceduna Base Hospital. I revisited the site 4 months later, but there was barely any sign left then of what had been my magnificent touring machine, the mightily modified turbo Yoshi 900 kitted K2 Honda 4.
It was around 4 years old, and only had about 230 (KOF! ..thousand...) Km on the odo.... Jeff and I regularly traveled more than 1500 Km per week as a means of reducing my capital to keep my 'vanishing-act ex' from claiming any part of it...

Norseman but heading to Esperance this afternoon.  Minor drama with Ben's BM (it doesn't want to start) so it's been relocated to Kalgoorlie for mechanic to check tomorrow.  Another BenT and OZSTOC rally story!!

We left Border Village early after a 10hr sleep due to time differences between Sa time and the central west time. Light rain overnight and a refreshing breeze meant for a great sleep after a hugemungous feed in the dining room. It drizzled on and off most of the day, although the radar showed no rain at all. No lightning today so that was a bonus.
Border security station upon leaving border village who borrowed our tomatoes and a lettuce  :cuss

View down Madurah pass

More showers to keep it cool all day

Lunch at Balladonia this arvo as the day got longer as we were now on WA time. Terry, Lionel & Jill caught up with us

We are at Norseman tonight. We saw the recovery truck heading out to pick up the broken bike, although we had no idea that's where it was heading. Its a nice 18 degrees here with a nice breeze and a setting sun to relax under with a beer and chocolate. PitSTop has cooked up a lovely curry pasta meal. Stinky Pete & PC / Navgirl are 100ks back up the highway camping on Frazers Range. PC had breast issues today and Stinky Pete kept wanting Marian to drop her strides but otherwise we kept them under control  :rofl

We left Norseman at 7am and headed the 200kms to Esperance. The evidence of this years bushfires was a common sight.

We had a walk around the jetty and got a great coffee.

Then we drove down the port area and come across the Great Ocean Drive by accident - The drive shits all over the Victorian great ocean road - This is a MUST do bike or car drive which stretches over 30klms of coastline before winding back past Pine lake back into Esperance. Do not miss this road  :-((( The photos don't do this ride justice

Then it was on to Albany for a beach walk out our temporary front door on the beach

Followed by a seafood dinner at Hybula Albany with a lovely red merlot and an excellent warm apple pie for dessert.

 :EatCake :beer  :eat
Me thinks its been a good day
Cheers

Short day travelling from Albany to Bussleton. The country side is bone dry which was completely different from the lush Nullabor and coastal areas of the last week.
Bussleton is not set up for visitors towing trailers and they have very efficious parking inspectors  :cuss
Luckily we couldn't get a park  :cuss so they didnt get us and the local supermarkets didnt get our dollars either.
We are nicely setup in the Big 4 peppermint cove and enjoying a cold beer and wet wine :beer :thumbs

It will be a nice short hop to the vineyards tomorrow so we can setup for the rally and catchup with the usual rascals  ;-*  :grin
Cheers

Have the same seat on the return flight-something to look forward to  :fp

We had a nice dinner last night with Capt Thunderbolt and Maria and woke to a mist. We left at 0730 and drove to north of Perth to catchup with the Pioneer trailer team. The highway went from Busselton to Joonadalup thru the guts of Perth without hitting one set of traffic lights. :clap  :think1 Wish the NSW RTA mob would them Perth engineeers to remove our bottle necks in out big cities  :phone

We restocked the fridges and the grog fridges and set up camp at the Big 4 Vineyards @ 1300. We then enjoyed a steady stream of visitors who all had good stories about their trip whether by road or air.
We went into town for the best sanga we have had in a long time - I fully recommend the Alfred Special sanga - great feed  :rockon :eat
Here below is the very sad crowd after dinner for drinks, not being happy or celebrating - No happy faces here ST2UP  :-(((
