What's between your hand and your throttle?

Does it change with the time of year or the weather conditions?

I only have summer style leather gloves (but I also have heated hand grips for the winter months)

What about you?

For the most of my riding winter gloves are ok. I've had one or two moments where I have felt the cold on chilly nights but not often enough for heated grips. I might feel differently if I lived in Bendigo or there abouts where I picked my bike up from as it was the month of May and a frosty morning.

Back in the UK I used summer gloves and heavy-duty winter gloves.

Over here I have 2 pairs of summer gloves at the moment, one pair is supposed to be waterproof gore-tex - but they aren't! Hein Gericke too, supposed to be good.

I mainly wear Summer gloves but once winter arrives the Winter ones come out.
I need to replace my summer ones as they are at the end of their life they are Rivet gloves but cannot find new ones of them anywhere

Hmmmm i know i shouldnt but 95% of the time is figerless gloves

. even in winter as ive got heated grips but when it gets realy cold a set of winter gloves. sometimes on long rides maybe a set of summers

Palms might be protected, but it's pretty crap to lose fingers.
I use mainly summer type gloves, then winters when at night.
Looking forward to my first set of heated grips this year.

I've seen to many accidents where people haven't worn proper protective clothing.
What is the first thing that you put out when stopping yourself from falling? .....hands.

It scares me when I see people on scooters and high powered bikes wearing a tee shirt, shorts and thongs.
I bet Roper and Biggles have seen some nasty stuff, in the line of duty.

Honestly, for a bit of discomfort in the heat, I would rather have every part of my covered properly.

I have always worn gloves on my bikes got spare pairs in the panniers and at home too. It feel totally wrong if I just move the bike across a car park or such without them on.
I will always remember seeing my Dads hand after he got hit by a rock that popped out from in between a trucks rear tyres, whilst he was riding home from work. He had good quality gloves on and it's obvious that had he not he would have lost most of his hand the old guy still has deformed fingers and some pain, it's got to be fourty years since the rock hit him.

Had heaps of em. The dish washing gloves over the normal gloves is just the best in the wet and I did that for years until I splashed out and got me a pair of the BMW Pro-winter ones that are just the best.
In summer I have a pair of DriRider that's in the pictures for the trips and around town a pair of short RJays

Bloody funny story. I never used to wear gloves?? That is until in 1974 when going home on leave its the early hours of the morning, bottom of NSW.
So I meets this old bloke maybe the age I am now at a servo and as we are leaving and getting the gear on he says to me where are your gloves??? I tells him I don't have any. He tells me that your hands are the first thing that hits the ground when you come off. Ahhhh so its 8am and I'm outside a Bike shop in Albury waiting for it to open so I can get me some gloves and have worn gloves every time I ride since

Was the same bloke at the same time that told me about the industrial Yellow rain pants and I had them for the next 20 years.

I have always worn gloves, and have tried various sorts over the years. At the moment I have heated grips, but use winter gloves as it still gets chilly (going to the Border Run went through fog and below zero temperatures that heated grips alone would not handle). I did use some offroad fabric gloves for winter (Fox brand) but have now gone for summer armoured gloves as the fabric gloves probably would not be the best if I hit the road. I also have some inbetween gloves that are basically sports gloves that I picked up on sale but are yet to use. I also have some Alpinestar supposed waterproof gloves that have yet to be tested. Before the Alpinestars I used the Belstaff waxed cotton mitts since 1970s, but they need rewaxing. If the newer gloves don't work I will go back to the Belstaffs as they do work, as do my old PVC orange and black waterproofs - sweat a bit though!.

Shiney, in the pic of the Dri-rider Winter Gloves you put up, the left index and middle fingers have a pattern on them, is this for electrical conduction for using an iphone etc, or just reflective for flipping the bird at cage drivers and making sure you're seen???

I use RJay's summer weight gloves with thermal liners for cold weather.

It must be just so people can see me give the 2 fingered wave

Still great gloves though

I generally ride wth summer style gloves but in colder weather I have silk inner gloves to stop my hands getting too cold.

I found a company called Aerostitch who say they make bike gloves with the conductive thread included. I asked them and the reply I got was;

"We do carry gloves that have conductive thread in the index and middle fingers. They are called Touch-Screen Elkskin Ropers #429. For a more detailed description and product reviews you can view them on our website at www.aerostich.com"

Dam lucky i suppose that it doesn't matter what glove I wear as everything on my bike works with normal gloves. Phone through the GPS (Garmin Zumo 550), holds the phone book, last dialed and all the phone gear and all the numbers and stuff on the screen is big.
Just love stuff that works

leather winter and leather summer gloves - obtained from a local army disposal store.... half the price of those you'd buy in a m/c store (& half the quality?)

The winter gloves are nicely lined - good enough for Perth winters, but on the odd occasion I do have to lay them in front of the heater for 10 mins.... or I could buy heated grips.

Just got to say that BMW Gloves are the best I have ever worn "Simple" They are probably the dearest at around a couple of hundred a pair but dam worth it (E-Bay is your friend)
This is what I have now
BMW Pro Sport for normal day to day
BMW Pro Winter for the cold and wet
From now on the only Gloves I will buy are BMW and the only ones I will recommend
You just got to make sure they fit, because they do not stretch
