2004 ST1300 for sale

Well the time has come to part with my beautiful 1300. I've owned it for 15 years and has been the best bike I've owned during the past 47 years of bike ownership. Reason for selling is simply downsizing. If anyone knows someone who wants a well cared for 1300, send them my way. As I'm trying to sell my Golf Alltrack, Shiney recently gave me the advice to take the car (bike) out to nice locations for the photos, and include one of the front of the vehicle, from down low.

Since the change last Sunday, the car has been added to 3 "saves".

It gives the buyers a bit of an emotional response and helps envisage West they can do with it.

I did think I should have taken photos in a nice location, but then I have no photographic flair to highlight that anyway. I'll see how it goes, and if no response in a week, I might con my daughter into some photography duties.

Montville Main St and the car park under the trees, Mary Cairncross Park with the Glass House Mountains in the background, a photo coming through one of the twisties up that way, beach side with wave crashing on the background, etc.

BMW R1200RS. I've been looking for a replacement for a while. Test rode about 6 different bikes over the past few months and as soon as I got on the Beamer I felt it suited me perfectly. I don't need a full-on tourer and I didn't want an adventure bike. Comfort and reasonable wind protection were the 2 'must have' items. The Beemer offers that and some other nice features and is MUCH lighter.

My ST1300 sold within an hour of posting it up on FacePlant MarketPlace and the background was my garage roller door...lol
I guess a nice background can't hurt though...

Deposit was put down last night without viewing the bike. I won't celebrate just yet, but very confident.

Nigel has been an easy target for a while, even when he had his ST1100, which swapped for his BM.  I thought he had seen the light when he stole bought an ST1300 for a Sydney OzSTOCer, but then he passed that onto his brother.  It has been a case of one step forward, two steps back.

When I had my Ex Pol 1100, it literally parted the traffic. Great bike, but got me into trouble with being done for speeding, and no, I`m not a hotrodder! So I said to myself, put cruise on it or update.
Looked around and settled on the BM, as it had all bases covered, and was 50k lighter. Getting older.
Have to say that I`m extremely happy with it, and it has served me well. The gearbox is a bit agricultural, nowhere near as sweet as the 1100 or 1300, just different.
Starting to look at bikes that may be lighter.
Happy with Both Brands though...

Being serious for a moment... 

I actually really don't care what brand of bike some-one has, so any teasing is just a bit of fun and hopefully people see it for what it is.

No offence taken here. I had a couple of bad experiences with European cars and bikes in the late '70's and '80's. I guess a lot has changed since then, but I did my fair share of 'mocking' in past decades. Humble pie could do with a dusting of icing sugar though.

May be the case with your current ride, but .....

My first experience riding a BM was in the mid '80's on a mate's then relatively current model R65 (ex-RTA licence tester bike - his old work ride).  We swapped bikes for a ride to Marysville (he rode my Honda CB400F).  The BM was lumpy and rough, compared to the silky smooth Honda 4 - put me off BMs for three decades.

Next time was in 2009 at the Ulysses AGM test rides, a GS1200, and I thought that things haven't progressed much.

I'd ask Nigel to swap bikes for a test ride on the way to Mannum, but once he was on the ST1300, I probably wouldn't get him off it, and would not be able to catch him anyway.
