This for the 1300 but the process is the same.

You will need an EP 80 oil or EP 80/90 which seems to be more common these days.
And something to drain the oil into.
When I refill I also use a funnel with some clear tube attached to it.

Video is of a Goldwing 1800 final drive oil change but the process is the same.

manual says every 30,000 km.

I bought my 1999 1100A  with 11,500km in 2006 but whether the drive oil was changed or not I still didn't do it until about 60,000 (sometime in 2008). I Asked them to do it when I took the bike in for a tyre change. It was next done somewhere between 120,000 and 150,000 then a final drive repair (158,000 worn splines) in Jan 2014. The last change was done 12 months or just over 10,000km ago

I do it every 40000Ks or so. The diff isnt subject to a lot of heat, or close tolerance rotating parts so it isnt critical. The oil has always been in good condition on change. A bottle of hypoy 90 oil will last a long time
