Dash mounted Speakers, anyone have experience with this?

Hi all,

I always ride with high quality custom made audio earmolds, but was considering external dash mounted speakers in addition when I dont want the earmold option, ie short ride, helmet on and off frequenlty...
 
What were the results, where do you get the speaker boxes and speakers?

I have a small 12 v amp, mp4, and Scala Rider intercom I use for all my audio needs.

I realize the sound will never be as clear as earmolds but just wanted to get some info from someone who has done this.

I had these fitted to my 96 ST1100. I found them brilliant until I got my Scala bluetooth unit.

I had them fitted to the dash and they were very clear at full speed.

if you can post up a picture that would be great, I have a St1300 and wonder if they would fit behind the speaker grille.
are they relativly waterproof?

My ST came with speakers and marine cd and radio. I have tested them but never really used them. You are welcome to try anytime.

Ilove the external speakers on my GL1500 Goldwing and plan on fitting some to my ST1300. I have been trying to buy the original Honda speakers and boes for a while but no luck so far.
