Ruapehu is on my list of places to visit next time I'm in NZ.

I've added it to the OzSTOC ride map found on a link from here
http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=7331.0

Enjoy and have a great time.  :hatwave

Now we just hope for a nice December day when Ruapehu isn't doing it's 'thing'. Doesn't matter too much as there's a couple of foul weather meal alternatives back at the bottom of the hill if need be. (We could always try and get a photo of an ST in front of Gollum's pond which is down that way although Dept of Conservation might have something to say about the cross country leg...)

Excellent, thanks for that. Where will we meet up with you? As mentioned above I'll be leaving from Palmerston North and going up via Wanganui and the Parapara's.
(Just got back from a ride to my parents place outside of Cambridge for the long weekend. Went via the Napier-Taupo Road both ways which seemed to be having a Gold Wing Trike convention out there today judging by the numbers! It was wet in the Waikato when I left this morning, a moments sunshine for lunch in Napier then heavy rain the rest of the way back down to the Manawatu. I'm eagerly awaiting my new OzSTOC jacket and hoping it's at least as waterproof as my current one which is now dripping wet in front of the heater!)

Thanks Denis. That sounds great - always good for a trip to show off the worlds best riding roads.
I'm planning on giving my ST to Mainfreight in Auckland on or about 1 March so it makes Sydney the week before the rally. Hope to be in one or other country with a ridable bike the same time you are.http://ozstoc.com/Smileys/default/hat1.gif
Cheers.

Hi All,

Just a reminder that we’ve got our ride next Saturday. The plan is still:

- 0900: Depart Palmerston North Caltex Service Station, Cnr College & Fitzherbert Ave.
- 0920: Mt Stewart Memorial.
- 1015: Depart Wanganui McDonalds, Liffiton St to head up the Parapara’s
- 1130: Depart Raetihi Caltex Service Station
- 1230: Lunch at Happy Valley Bistro (Cafe at top of the Bruce) then continue on around the mountain.

As you know the weather’s been average of late but I’m picking on the day we’ll have something better than the recent horizontal sleet.

Also, for those who are keen, the following weekend there’s the Coast to Coast ride which always draws a good number of ST’s. You can Google this event as
WOODVILLE LIONS CLUB 22ND ANNUAL, SUZUKI COAST TO COAST, HIMITANGI to AKITIO

Cheers,
Rob
