I thought that I would let people know that there was a new proud owner of a ST1100 in Milperra. I picked up an ex Ambo bike with 50k on the clock and I am loving it.
A little about me. My name is Bruce Batey I am a Sparky who turned into a salesman who turned into a lawyer. I have a similar story to my mate Beefa as in I had a rest from riding for about 20 odd years, when my youngest daughter purchased a 250 Intruder I thought it was time to have another ride. I am married with a beautiful wife (been married for 22 years to the same one) Kelly she is also a lawyer and my business partner we run a practice from Revesby, Batey' Family Lawyers, we have 3 wonderful children aged 18, 19 & 20 Chloe, Steve and Jazz. They are great kids and I am very proud of them.
I'm looking forward to some rides with the club, short 1 day rides from Sydney could be fun. Unfortunately Kelly while she likes the bike and is happy for me to have a ride is not interested in jumping on the back (it terrifies her).
Beefa and I went away on the bikes for the long weekend, our first trip since back on the steed. It was good fun. Mind you the road from Berry to Kangaroo Valley was a little challenging in parts but the pie at Kangaroo Valley made it worth the excitement. It was good to get back on the bikes and it makes you realize that there are some muscles in the arms and shoulders that don't get used too much if your not riding. Anyway enough rambling from me.
One last thing before I go, does any one know a good mechanic for the ST1100 in Sydney southwest?

Hello Bruce, and welcome to the mad house. There are lots of self-proclaimed experts on the forum, and strangely enough they deserve the title, 'cause they know a great deal about STs, so feel free to ask questions etc and I have no doubt that you'll get an answer!.

Hi Vega, just looking for a machanic for general service type work, nothing urgent. Mind you the clutch seems not to fully release ie creeps forward in first sometimes, I read a change of oil could fix it. Good luck with getting the bike back together, let me know and we could arrange a ride.

Howdy Bruce. The Grey Gum cafe ride should suit you on 11 November. Take it easy getting back into it, but the ST11 has far great capabilities than most rides so you can trust her (as long as you don't over do it!)

Like Dave (Vega) mentioned, there's a few of us on close proximity and maybe we can organise a drink or a nice and ejoyable ride very soon. John (Saaz) mentioned the "Grey Gum Cafe" ride on the 11th November and it would be nice to ride out locally to meet other groups along the way so we can arrive at the cafe together then kick back and talk about important things such as.......the awesome ST.
Regarding a mechanic, from you profession I pressume you are time poor and all free time will be spent on quality time riding your new STeed. So, I just joined the St George/Sutherland Ulysses chapter and they are sponsored by Caringbah Motorcycles, http://www.caringbahmotorcycles.com.au/ (http://www.caringbahmotorcycles.com.au/) , most of the Ulysseans (Steve the owner is one of them) service their bikes there. I was there last week to organise my Rego and the workshop was busy with all types brands and models being worked on.

We'd love to see some pics of the ex-ambo ST11 when you have time.
Oh, and I bet that pie in KV was from the pie shop at Robbo! yes?
