As Biggles says, depends on the distance vs price, as well as any extras included and maintenance records. No major problems with the ST13 as long as all maintenance is done.  At any age minor niggles like coolant leaks (mostly just tighten a hose clamp or 2), thermostat may need replacing or at least a good coolant flush and keep greasing those drive splines at every tyre change.

The other item to check for a slightly higher k bike is when and if the valve clearances have been checked and adjusted if necessary. I believe they can cost to have adjusted, not a major thing but another item worth considering with all the other things.

Well folks, the test ride is complete, a deal done & the bike was delivered last night  :eek

I took it for a little run this morning...about 120k's worth. After a few hours of soaking in my own sweat , i decided it was beer

I'm pretty sure the ST1300 will go close to that capability.  I've seen a slab of beer in the top box and the panniers are deeper, so your Rum will go in sideways.
