My ST1300 is not quite a year old so she has many, many years left in her. However as the ST1300 is no longer in production, if anything happened to her, if she was written off as was my FJR I would most likely buy another low mileage ST. Failing that it would definitely be another FJR1300. They are a fantastic bike, heaps of power, comfortable (not as good as the ST though) great handler and a big mile eater like the ST. I was very impressed with my FJR. My wife does not ride with me so the FJR is fine, if she did it would have to be another ST.

Well if I was to go for a tourer the triumph Trophy looks good. It has a great range of features and all reports say it is a great bike, the only downfall is the price, way out of my league. As a compromise I'd consider the VFR1200X it has some good options like a touring screen, luggage, side deflectors, optional fog lamp kit and heated grips. But i don't have to worry i'm sure Golden Brown will keep me moving for a while, she isn't even run in at 75000 so there's plenty of life in the old girl yet.

New bike looming. Took at ST1300 for a test ride before they stopped selling new ones - a downgrade from the ST1100 I felt. Also test rode a BMW (too high and expensive) and an FJR (felt large and less maneuverable)  however the Kawasaki GTR 1400 is looking as the favorite at the moment. However I have been unable to find a dealer that is prepared to allow a test ride. So I wait.

There's a jade green one at Caboolture Honda Adrian, and these guys always seem keen to do business. I.e., i like your chances of being able to take this one for a blast. Might be worth a call.
Cheers, Diesel

Obviously a matter of taste.  There are similarities and differences.
If the style of the ST11 really floats your boat, the more nimble ST13 might feel too sporty.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I guess my main concern was around the steering. I felt that the 1100 was more direct and the 1300 some what remote. "You know it's just the vibe of the thing"

Fair enough, I was just wondering!!!!!    It would be interesting on Streak's thoughts, having come from an 1100 to the 1300, and anyone else in fact who may have done likewise, I myself haven't, but I've never had a problem with the 1300 steering so I would be interested in other comments! :grin

I came the 11 to 13 route, and later on did a test ride in an ST11 for Abe.

The steering geometry on the ST13 is definitely more sporty, or "aggressive" I suppose some might say.

Other..lets hear it.

XT1200Z Tenere just keeps re emerging in my diet.

Current none ST is closer to an all roads machine and I miss that with the ST. Things I have learned I like from the ST is luggage and more CC's.

s10 really is more my cup of tea.
