Hi everyone,
New member here, I have only just worked out how to post on here, NOT very computer savvy.
My name is Ian and I live in Peterborough SA and have ridden motor bikes all my life since I was about 13yrs old or so am now 63.
Most of my bikes have been dirt bikes until my health stopped me from being so stupid, Have just bought my first big size bike, an ex cop st100, I really like it for touring around but do not like the weight as yet but hopefully will get used to it.

Unfortunately I dropped it while trying to stop on a incline and broke the rh mirror ass and cover including blinker ass. if anyone can advise me where I can purchase these from it would be greatly appreciated, living in remote country doesn't help!

I have been reading thru the forum and have got some great hints etc and good reads.

Anyway sorry for ranting and look forward to any replies.

Cheers
Ian

You need to talk to Alan who is just up the road from you.  He's Alans1100 on this Forum.  Find him on the Members list and PM here.  He's here nearly all the time anyway- I'm surprised he hasn't beaten me to the Welcome!

Hi mac55 and welcome to OzSTOC from SA.    :hatwave   Alans1100 is also in Peterborough, and is pretty good at ferreting out parts.

Keep our "Ride to Eat" at Kadina on Saturday the 2nd Feb in mind, and meet some of the SA gang.   See  http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=13074.0 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=13074.0)

Hi Ian, welcome aboard from the Adelaide Hills

I'm sure you'll enjoy the site and hope to meet you at one of the RTE's

This link may help with an answer to the mirror assembly problem, depending on how bad the damage is: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=13104.msg1246390#msg1246390 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=13104.msg1246390#msg1246390)

John g is SA based and did a marvellous job plastic welding and repainting my 1100's r/h assembly. For the mirror glass, I found a local glazier that was able to cut me a new mirror for a few dollars.

Cheers

Another hello from Adelaide.  Sorry to hear about you dropping your bike, but if it's any comfort (it isn't I know) we've all done it.   :hatwave

Hi Ian,

Nice to see you made it after I bumped into back in Nov. http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=116.msg1246144#msg1246144 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=116.msg1246144#msg1246144)

As for the mirror etc. the parts can still be bought new if you can't find a used one. The nearest dealer is Northern Motorcycles at Port Augusta but for non urgent parts I usually buy from the US and the UK.

Item 10 is the RH mirror and the same on all years. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2003/st1100p-a/windscreen (https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2003/st1100p-a/windscreen)

If the mirror cover isn't to badly damaged it can be repaired.

arrh G'Day Ian mac55 welcome to the forum mate, my ST1100 STranger is well known for broken bits, its amazing how well 100 mph tape holds together, I repaired my r mirror cowl many times but the next tip over the cracks just all became to much.
On my ST1300 my first farkle was extra rear tip over bars off a Goldwing to prevent broken plastics.
Enjoy yours and maybe we'll meet up somewhere on an RTE …
