OK then Biggles.  I've fixed Saturday by moving the heaviest of the showers to Friday, making it better for our big ride.

Crisis over

Pete did his stuff and we had excellent weather for the ride.  The heavy rain fell while we had our Pub lunch, and was dry when we were ready to continue the ride.
What Pete didn't foresee was the 50 kph winds in the afternoon, but we're a hardy lot and leaned into them.
Been back at base since 4:00 (as planned) and ironing our tuxedos for the Presentation Dinner.
