Just shod the 13 with a new set of Pirelli Angel ST`s, man! i`m riding a totally new bike!, it tracks nicely dips in beautifully & just feel to be the right tyre for the bike. No more Metzelers for me!,Team Moto Honda Nerang, $400 fitted & balanced with a free set of angle valves! don`t think you can beat that price! :thumbs.....Pete. :slvr13

Just fitted (Yesterday) a PR3 to the front, to match the PR3 on the rear. The bike feels firmly planted and poisitive in the corners. Just need to ride a little more on the front to scrub it in and I will start to push it a little. I expect great handling, now to see how long it lasts

I've got the angels too, there great aren't they.
Got a few thousand up on mine now and still performing brilliantly. :thumb

What sort of Km's are people getting on their Tyres?
I've still got the ones that come with it on 12,000 and something KM later.

Current tyres PR3s with 13000 and maybe 5000 left in them.
Previous PR2/PR3 pair did 19500 km
Original factory Bridgies did 12500 km.
Speaks for itself, really! :grin

I have mostly got around the 10,000km to 13,000kms mark on the ST11, some in ST13 sizes, and have been happy with that (after years of less than 5000kms in the good old days) but some of the newer tyres seem to grip as well or better and get great distance.
Best tyre so far for me has been the Shinko Verge at 17,000kms front and back. Pilot Road 2 on at the moment but only 5,000kms on them. Grip, ride etc fantastic, but distance yet to be determined.

I have been running Pirelli Angels for the last three sets of tyres. I got 28,000, 24,000 and 29,000 out of them respectively. Mind you I travel daily from the Gold Coast to Brissy and back so not a lot of hard cornering is required. :thumbs

PR2s have got me around 15 to 17K the last 2 sets.

I lost a bit of tread getting used to the right pressures to use and towing a camper trailer. for some of it I should improve on that mileage as I have upped the rear pressure now :thumb

I am currently running a Metzler Z6 on the front of mine and a Metzler Marathon on the rear, not overly happy with them and not confidence inspiring. I rang one of the local dealers yesterday down here at Nowra to get a price on supply and fit a set of PR3's. They rang me back this morning, supply tyres $550.00 and about 1 hours labor to fit them at $94.00 + an hour. Thats just over $640.00. They have to be F***ing kidding. :cuss :cuss :cuss :cuss

I have been using Michelin PR3's for a while now and think they are an excellent tyre. I have been routinely getting 15k out of the back. I normally change both at the same time. The front would easily do over 20k but I prefer to keep my tyres in a set from new.

Sounds a bit exorbitant to me. I generally pay about $450 a pair fitted in Sydney. I think when you get away from the bigger city centres they certainly seem to have a lend of you.

Hi I'm getting a set of angels from same shop sat 399.00 fitted hope its an improvement over the bridgestones that are tracking a bit on the rough roads tho they maybe old as I have only had the bike a short time

How does the Pirelli's go for carrying weight? Full saddlebags and a passenger?
I'm up for a new back tyre now.

Hi tyres fitted went for a quick ride to byron Bay bike is a lot better now highly recommend them not tried with a load on but can't see any reason to believe that they will be any different

I put Angel ST's on my old bike just before I sold it. Completely changed it as well, for the better. I had happily been on Pilot Road II's for three years before. Unfortunately the brand new hoops on my new stead are Dunlop Roadmax's.
I was informed that the Angel ST's had a steel belt instead of a canvas belt. Stiffer side walls. I immediately noticed I was on tip toes sitting on the bike at rest. No sloshiness in the corner's either.

I can confirm that the Pirelli Angels have a steel belt. After the 29.000 klms on the last set I could see metal showing on the rear tyre. I was at the local bike shop on friday to get a puncture repair done to my rear and noticed that they have a new model pirelli just released, Angel GT's. The shop owner was talking them up big. Apparently they have changed the profile slightly to give more even wear.

Purchase a pair of Pirelli Angel GT's 3 weeks ago and have covered nearly 800ks on them so far.
They are brilliant, no more twitching or squirming in corners or joins in the road as I had with the
Metzelers. They are a harder compound when compared with Metzeler.
I fel that ST's like a harder tyre.
