Standard screen cat eye rubbers
« on: August 12, 2015, 05:57:06 PM »
Can anybody point me in the direction of somewhere I can get these rubbers? The best I've found on eBay was a single one, however it was about $30 to get it here from the states - I'm not that desperate. I was thinking someone might have an old standard screen laying around? Or know a good wreckers website?

Cheers.

the rubbers from a stock screen wont necessarily fit an after market screen (just saying) and second hand ones are probably perished. Mine were, just threw them in the bin.  You may get some chanet edging at Clark Rubber that would to the trick, just cut and trim to suit.

My screen is a standard screen, not aftermarket, just didn't have the rubbers on it when I bought the bike that's all. Good idea, will check out Clark Rubber.

Cheers.

Also try auto electricians for 'grommet strip' ( U shaped rubber used for insulating holes in firewalls, etc) and trim to fit.

They dont really do anything, and as they perish they get pretty crappy, screen is easier to clean with them not there

I'll have a look in the shed tomorrow, mine had new rubbers on it about 18 months before I changed screens 4 years ago.

I would also love to replace mine as well. One side started to perish about two months ago and haven't got organized to search for replacements.
