Well after being in Melbourne doing some "professional development"
and having previously organised a hire bike with Garners to attend, things changed. WendyL was forced to pull out and thus Dave and Trevor at Garners now had an ST1300 spare.....Oh well, maybe I can sneek in under the radar
So I rock up on Friday night a little late for dinner but some persons were still around....
A great time was had catching up with those I already know and with many others I had pleasure in meeting.......and a few too many JB's.....late that night I retired back to the motel room booked across the road.
Saturday morning came about and I wander over to the great breakfast put on by the local Lions, gotta love 'em
. Then out came Streak the shirt salesman and I ended up with a bright orange rally t-shirt......and managed to avoid Diesel the camera freak all day long so no pic, it didn't happen
We then set about queing up to depart for a little ride......
First stop was at Kryal Castle where it was a sight to behold, all these ST's taking up the majority of the car park, and I managed to blend in well....
Everything was going well and then......this....
I mean the things you see when you don't have........and he was right in the middle, perfect target
It was a great ride then out to the Blackwood Pub where a great meal and more socialising was had. Unfortunately for me I had prior engagement with an IBA-UK member for dinner in Melbourne and an early flight home to Tassie on Sunday morning, so from Blackwood I headed to Melbourne to drop off the bike, Thanks Garners, and out for a brilliant Thai dinner.
A BIG HUGE thank you to all of the organisers and to all of the attendees cause this was a great event
And to just prove I did in fact ride an ST.......
Look forward to next year, and in particular the year after back in my home state of WA, all be it not on an ST....maybe
