New screen fitted.
« on: February 01, 2014, 06:37:50 PM »
First up.  Thanks to all for this OzSTOC forum.  I have learnt so much and it has really helped on so many aspects.

My new screen is just one of many examples.
I had read that a new screen could help solve the buffeting especially for my wife sitting pillion.  Investigation started.  I like the look of the eagle screens in the West.  In fact i ordered one while they were closed over the christmas new years break.

Anyway the quote came through.  How I hate those extra 10% GST additions, then on top of that a hefty insurance add on.  Well that tipped the scales and I canceled the order.  Not sure I felt comfortable with the attitude, the pricing the insurance and the implied "if its broke thats your problem to sort out and get the insurance money."   Hell he no longer even has to try to pack it so that it does not break.  He will sell more if they keep getting smashed.  No ... Definitely not comfortable.

The OzSTOC forum came through with a number of user experiences of different screens.  Being in Melbourne checking out screensforbikes.com was a natural.  Some of you gave Peter a good rap so it was worth a try.  What a good experience.  I now have my screen all fitted up.  Peter was great to deal with.  The whole transaction went as smooth as silk.

Its early days so cant yet address things like buffeting, how it stands up to long hours on the road etc.  That info will be posted later.

So far though I highly recommend ScreensForBikes.com.

To everyone who contributes and adds input to all of the topics on the forum ... I just want thanks.  Its a great resource, helps one make good choices and contributes to having a great bike to ride.

Goodonya Piet.   We're all keen to hear some feedback on how you find your new screen.
