Thank you everyone for advice re trailers tyres etc.
I have been off the road without my ST1100 due to maintenance.
I had used it twice to commute to Brisbane having changed the timing belt myself (very proud) but once on the concrete sections extreme frequency vibrations so knew something not right.

Front suspension taken to good mechanics at Nerang. Rebuild and new chroming required. The internal Teflon bushes were shot and had previously probably not been reassembled correctly.

Just under a $1000 later now falling back in love with the ST especially hiding behind fairing and screen in colder weather, plus more upright than VFR800 so back pain is also receding.

I may feel confident enough to come out on next ST1100 meet.

On a different note, I own two, 4 stroke Chinese scooters, I unknowingly rode one dry on oil, which then seized.

My scooter man says this is very common as only small amount of oil in first place, and no filter.

So word of warning, if you ride a Chinese scooter, perhaps regard as a two stroke and regularly check the oil consumption or may end up as expensive ornament, or yet another blasted project.
