Shoei Neotec 2 Helmet
« on: December 11, 2019, 12:38:39 PM »
Looking at updating to a new helmet as I haven't been overly impressed with the Bell SRT Modular that I purchased early this year.
I've tried the Shoei Neotec 2 out for size and came away impressed with it's comfort.
By all reports it's a pretty quiet helmet which I'm looking for as the Bell was fairly noisy with the visor closed.
Now, the Shoei is designed to use an optional built-in Sena headset which is not that attractive to me as I've not long purchased a Lexin headset and am hoping to fit that instead.

So, I guess I'm asking...are there any members with this particular helmet who have fitted an "aftermarket" headset, and if so, were there any issues with it's installation?

Thanks!  :Chocies

I purchased a Shoei Neotec 2 which was a replacement for my Shoei Neotec that was damaged it my off last year
Love the helmet and it is fairly quiet for a flip face
But I fitted the Sena  that was designed for it. Works great but not cheap

JF3000 has one.
I installed a "aftermarket" Sena 10c Pro on it without issue, you wont have any issue with installing any of the "aftermarket" headsets on this helmet.

The only reason to get the optional built-in Sena headset is to have the unit hidden away inside the helmet.

Thanks guys!
That's good to hear...Thanks muchly for your quick responses...:thumbs

Shiney, I'm assuming the "aftermarket" headset was fitted back from where the built-in Senna goes?
Did you use the proper clamp bracket or did you have to use the stick on tape?

Cheers  :clap

Great! Thanks for that...  :thumbs

I'm now the proud owner of a Shoei Neotec 2, or I will be when it turns up in the mail.
Hopefully I can slip it under the Xmas Tree without the wife noticing...

I must of been a really good boy this year!!!!  :rofl

I have the Neotec 2 after my Neotec was damaged in my off in 2015 and I have the Sean SNH10 fitted to it with the bracket.

Depending on the thickness of the speakers, you can choose. For thin ones, you can leave the speaker blanks in, for thicker speakers, you can take the blanking plugs out.

Easiest way is to pull the cheek pads out, the inner liner, fit and reverse.

Just an update... :law
I'm loving the helmet and, in spite of what I said previously about the optional Sena headset, I actually lashed out and bought a set.

They weren't cheap but being built into the helmet it certainly looks neat and you'd hardly know it was there.
Not the easiest to operate with the buttons but, as the "voice command" works a treat it does make the buttons almost obsolete.
No worries with it pairing up with the Lexin headset in Sue's helmet either.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with both and would certainly recommend them...:thumbsup
