I'll confirm later but after a brief chat with Heather we might be attending rather than just I.

Heather's youngest daughter is moving over here and if we can get her to just feed the dogs while we're away then we'll be ok to go over.

:bl11 Hi everyone I'm new to the club and I was wondering if anyone from down my way (Lakes Entrance, East Gippsland) is going to the National Rally. Would be great to meet up with anyone from down this way or even anywhere on the way to ride up to Wooli. Also wondering if anyone would like to share a cabin up there? Thanks.

Welcome On In Liamray  :clap  We have lots of members down Vic way - You may want to message Marcus or Sulkybear to get their thoughts on their ride plans.
There will be other members looking to share a cabin so keep across these pages for more info as we get closer to the Nat Rally dates. :thumb

Kicking it off with the Attendees (Actual Registration will open soon)

I too am a relative new member to the group and have only attended a couple of locale RTE's and the tri-state in Balranald last month.  I learned of the national rally a few weeks after that when it popped up in my facebook feed and it's missed my annual leave by one week so shan't be attending but am intrigued of what the actual registration process is and what the requirements are for future reference.  Until now I've just said on the forum count me in and rocked up.

Hi Bodo - When costs for the Nat Rally have been finalised by the Nat Rally planning committee all members will be notified.  ;-*

We have a great team of members planning this years Nat rally  :clap :thumbs

The team planning the 2018 Nat Rally is already planning for next year  :thumb

The process is normally you go to the OzSToc shop page on the website and purchase the Nat Rally registration pack ( I think @ sub $50 per member ). During your process you provide your details including clothing sizes so on the day you rock up to the national rally you will receive a Nat Rally pack with your goodies, site map, timing of the nat Rally events, etc.

Keep an eye out for a notification very soon when the registrations will be open  :hatwave   You can book your accommodation now and discuss on the forum page if you would like to share a cabin with fellow OzSToc members :-)

As for me - registration can be a pain as I never know if I can make it until about a week or two before the event though this year is looking better.

I also have some medical problems and am sort of in limbo at the moment.
Many thanks to other members for suggestions and offers of help.

When I know for sure you'll know. Not to fussed about a rally pack at the moment - more important that we get the cash turn up instead of worrying about a few trinkets.

I completely understand that individual fiscal restraints play a mammoth role in what "extras" you can fit into life  ;-*

The other side of the coin isn't based on individual members though (as personalized as we like to think we are as a group).

We have a Rally committee who need to base all their planning to maximise members Rally experience on attending numbers.

In simply terms if you plan on 10 people to come for a BBQ at home and 15 turn up on the day everyone goes home hungry   :wink1

Hey Fellow OzSTOC-ers... being on holidays in the area, we got to visit the Big4 Wooli yesterday... it's a lovely spot (our site is primo :grin)... 1 mozzie, no flies but don't forget to pack the Aerogard anyway... and Rum  :p ... they are looking forward to us coming... driving around, we noticed plenty of holiday rentals.... the Wooli shop, servo (ULP91= 143.9c/Lt) and hotel/motel are close by.... we were there at 2pm-ish and hungry, so we went to investigate the eating opportunities... there was the pub, the bowls club and the oyster/fish & chip shop down on the river... and a very nice cafe called Little Fish, that does breakfast, lunches and 'good coffee'... they also had gluten-free options (we had a delicious late-lunch there)... carry some cash, EFTPOS is more miss than hit... there's an ATM at the bowls club... the road into Wooli from the M1 was well sign-posted, good two-lane bitumen and tall timberland forest all the way in... see you all in October.  Cheers, John & Kate.

Good call Gary.... we saw no road-kill or pads (straying stock) yesterday... the road had clear verges to the tree-line... cattle, sheep and roos were seen in some roadside paddocks... so, eyes open and take care. Cheers, John.

So just have to pull the pin and pitch for the FNQ in 18. Not happy but, enjoy all, and I hope that this is the best one yet.. Nigel.. :wht11.. :'(

Update by OzSToc Management (ST2UP & Pockey cant get to a computer ATM) -

There have been a few members that cannot attend Nat Rally for whatever reason but would like a shirt as they look real good and promote OzSToc.

They have decided to let members, who cant attend Nat rally but want a shirt, place their order ASAP to be placed in the main Nat Rally shirt order - There will NOT be any more made after the main order for Nat Rally is placed.

The shirt is a limited run and all shirt orders need to be in by 31st August.

If you want to order a shirt OR would like a second shirt could you order by sending a PM to ST2UP and paying the $47 incl postage via Bank Transfer only please BSB 064-429 Acc 10138445 OzSTOC Riders.

So as mentioned we are going to make the shirt available for members unable to attend National Rally.....$47 incl Postage in Aust.

Send me a PM or FB inbox with your details, Name/Address/Size: But the offer strictly ends 31/08/17 !! So I can place the order..... :wink1

Last year we allowed a number of the left over W.A shirts to be sold off cheap...

In previous years it was understood that to receive the rally shirt you needed to make the effort to get to rally and the shirt was your "Badge of Honour" for attending  :wink1

While I understand this concept and appreciate the view point...but we wish to ensure a more inclusive club experience for all our members and from a overall club perspective I would much rather see our club and any clothing that can promote our group out there in the public arena and on display  ;-*

Evening All  ;-*

We just need to re-enforce that Wooli is a VERY small coastal Hamlet that only provides basic services, so you WILL need to ensure that you bring any items you consider essential with you or collect in Coffs Harbour or Grafton prior to heading out to Wooli.

Wooli DOESN'T have a Chemist (Shop out the front of the Park has basic supplies to S2) Paracetamol and Cold & Flu etc....so fill your prescriptions before you attend.

Wooli DOESN'T have a Hospital, Doctors Surgery or Ambulance Service. (The Wooli SES act as a Community First Responders)

Wooli DOESN'T have a Motorcycle dealer (Fuel is available up to 95 RON at the Shop)

Wooli DOESN'T have a Coles/Woolies/Dan Murphies etc....Common Food products and Alcohol is available at the Shop & Tavern.

The small town feel was the real draw card of this location....we just want everyone to bring out their inner boyscout and Be Prepared

Good advice ........ and noted.

.... The Wooli SES act as a Community First Responders .....

What this means (to me) is that the guy or gal on the other end of the defibrillator re-starting your heart, usually spends his / her day driving a tractor, crutching sheep or (in the case of the Wooli SES) playing lawn bowls.

Edit: OP excluded.

(https://preview.ibb.co/hXrSEQ/Ozstoc_Patch_2017.jpg) (https://ibb.co/dHEfZQ)

Everyone attending will receive one of these Patches in your Rally Pack.

The Rally logo as most years is designed around the region we are visiting  :wink1

The Orange in the logo is the morning sun rising over the blue of the Pacific Ocean and the Snapper represents the breeding grounds both off the coast of Wooli in the Solitary Marine Park and the upper parts of the Wooli River. There may have been just a *hint* of Origin blue in there ....but that is purely accidental  :whistle

I had an idea for those in Northern NSW and SE Qld who can't attend the whole weekend, that it might be an idea to do an RTE on the Sat to Wooli for an early arrival so the can do the Lunch ride, or give them the lunch destination and they can meet up there. Lunch destination info given on Non-disclosure PM if its a secret.

The ticket process will allow a more streamlined gathering and prevent time in lengthy lines.  :grin

Breakfast money on the Saturday & Sunday will be collected by the provider at the kiosk ($10 Hot/$5 Cold)

You could if you wished as its a public venue...but I fear at your peril  :p

The group booking will be the venues priority....so you may be getting your meal after the group service.

I will post the info on the platers shortly....

Don't forget our little competition to be the owner of the OzSTOC Bike of the year....

To win you must be on an ST and at National Rally on the Saturday as the judge wonders wanders about looking at the ST's...

The bike of the year is judged by the previous years recipient if they are at National Rally  ;-*

So far we have had the following bikes as winners  :13Candy ,  :bl11 ,  :blk13,  :dred11,  :wht13 what will it be this year ???

This years ST judge with questionable morals and a taste for anything from the top shelf is Sicman (2014 winner) as the previous years recipients are not attending.

Tony's judging criteria is simple....it's not the array of farkles or the gleaming shine of an ST. All he looks for is a loved and respected ST that he looks at and wants to get on and ride.

So give your ST some love and perhaps a tart up and be in the running to take home the OzSTOC Bike of the Year trophy  :runyay

Don't forget the OzSTOC swap meet at 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon at the Camp Kitchen  :thumbsup

Bring your unwanted bike related bits and pieces to sell, swap or just give to a grateful OzSTOC member  ;-*

Go and have a look in the cupboard or shed and see what you really don't need any longer.

I know I have some bits that need a new home  ;-*

I will be on my GL1800 (F6B Bagger) also. I am still having an issue with coolant leakage on the ST1100 that I must locate.  :-[
I thought I had fixed the leak 3 weeks ago despite buying a hose kit on ebay where 4 of the hoses were wrong and having to make do with alternates from supercheap auto.
Perhaps the alternate hoses sprung the leak.

I'm leaving Sydney early Friday morning and expect to arrive by 3pm Friday.

We plan on having a leisurely ride, stopping whenever there is something that peaks our interest.

My wife had a stroke last Thursday morning.  She came out of hospital yesterday and is making a good recovery, considering the potential it had to be very bad.  She would love to have been there, having met you wonderful folks in W.A. last year.
I'm planning to come on the Friday and stay just the one night. I'll have family stay with her that night.
Having attended every Rally so far, I didn't want to miss this one.  I'll leave for home from Lawrence on Saturday afternoon.
I managed a room swap with Reubencan and Lorienvale and I will be roomies, so everyone is happy.

How excellent is that!?  That's Bundy dog in the front. Hopefully a higher definition one will come up on FB soon, as well as a lot of others.  A pity we didn't get more of those who are partly hidden to stand up along the back.  As it was, it took a while to get that lot herded together.  After every photo was taken someone else would come up the stairs from somewhere they had to be.
I have some pix myself from the Lawrence Tavern lunch yesterday, which I'll process and post.

I must admit that the NSW constabulary  :cop must have been made aware of the gathering of STeeds because I counted well over a dozen of the well camouflaged variety on my journey to and from the rally, however they stayed noticeably absent from the Rally venue,  :clap well done organisers.
To the organisers, your selfless and professional commitment at putting such a great venue was phenomenal.  :-++  I could not repay you enough for the work you have put into the Rally.  :rockon I only wish that work commitments had not limited me to two nights.

and there wasn't enough money to be made out on the country roads with the low volume of traffic we provided.  Much bigger catches to be made out on the highway.

A great group of people who obviously just want to have a good time and ensure those around them have a lot of fun.

STopped in for breakfast at Maclean yesterday then decided to head home.
Fueling up at Woodburn i heard a tooting car only to look up and see Justin and Allison waving as they drove past  :hatwave
I Pulled in at Chinderah north to put the wet liner in the jacket and grab a coffee.
Checked the radar as it was looking ugly then found this hail & lightening mess.
It pissed down soon after.Choice !

Congratulations and thanks again to the organising committee, fortunately the weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm OZSTOCers have for standing or sitting around yarning.  A great weekend in great company.  ++ ++ ++ ++

I had a relatively short trip to Stanthorpe on Monday and was pleased to have planned it that way!  About 40km from Tenterfield I caught up to the rain and storms and did the last 100 or so kilometres in showers and the proverbial raining cats and dogs.  The final leg on Tuesday was brilliant - partly cloudy, 15-25C and little to no traffic - the kind of days the ST was designed for I think.

Stay safe everyone and see you at the next RTE/rally/whatever.

Cheers

Congratulations and thanks to the organising committee for making this a memorable weekend.

Had a good ride toward home via Bendemeer. The first day (Monday), saw a lot of showers all around me not didn't get wet all the time I was on the road.

My route was via Grafton, over the Gibraltar Range to Glen Innes - temperature ranged from 22 down to 11, then back up to 22 but not before I added layers - on to Inverell, checked out the transport museum there, then on the Bundarra Road via Tingha to Uralla, then onto Bendemeer for the night.

Next day was picture perfect and looked good riding day, until I got a puncture at the bottom of the Moonbi hill.
The riding fraternity being what it is, one young man stopped to offer assistance but as I had it all patched up, thanked him and off he went.
Another group of four also slowed but got the "go on" wave as I was just about to start again myself.

I had intended to go back to Sydney via the Bylong Valley Way, but time was now against me so I took the easy way out through Putty arriving home just on 5pm.

A great ride and a great weekend with really great people.  :thumbsup

Thank you all again

Thank you formerly #1 cabin boy.
I shall not look forward to being the trainee cabin boy next year.
Please book a nice cabin with good aircon that requires little cleaning  :spank

I arrived home in Tassie today after having a great time at the rally
Day 1 left Wooli and travelled down to Port Macquarie
Day 2 Port Macquarie to Muswellbrook , originally was going to travel down the Princes Hwy and in through Singleton but decided to travel via the Oxley Hwy to Tamworth then down the Hwy to Muswellbrook
Day 3 Muswellbrook to Wagga Wagga via the Bylong way to Ilford then through Sofala to Bathurst then down the Olympic Hwy to Wagga Wagga
Day 4 Wagga Wagga to Sale down the Olympic Hwy to Wodonga onto bright then over Mt Hotham and down the Great Alpine Road to sale
Day 5 Sale to Melbourne via Phillip Island and onto the Boat.
I had planned to meet up with Diesel for Breakfast at Sheffield once I was off the boat but it raining fairly heavily when the boat pulled in so I texted Diesel to say I was heading straight home.

The only incidents I had on the way back , one coming into Bathurst where a car was indicating to turn to right and with the right indicator on turned left across in front of me , a bit of a lock up , kept the bike upright motor running and didn’t hit anything. The other was on the way up Mt Hotham where there a lot of 30 and 35 Kph corners , as I was coming around a left 30kph corner leading into a right 35kph blind corner a D/cab Ute came around the outside of me thankfully nothing came around that corner he then did the same to a car up in front.
I also nearly head butted two magpies one seagull and two galahs, other than all of the a pretty clear run good weather all the way.
