Welcome to our world.
The Brisbane tunnels, bridges and toll roads have been charging bikes since they opened.  We get about half price, and the concession that we don't have to carry a transponder- they do numberplate recognition for free.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Good reminder there Marcus,  :thumb

:think1 may need to "bump" this topic nearer to the National Rally as well.

Looking forward to the travel down there.

At my age " getting lucky" is remembering what I came in the room for ;)

Why?  You enjoy zero tolerance?

Anyhoo, just say out of Melbourne.  That's the only place with toll roads, isn't it Marcus?

Even though I have no need to worry about toll roads in SA I still have my GPS set to avoid them.

Marcus - are they going to build an Eastern ring rd freeway so you can turn off Sydney road and go around the eastern side of the city down to the peninsular?

The western ring rd works well, but they havent seem to got an eastern ring rd worked out.

You are probably referring to North East Link which is a proposed connection between the Metropolitan Ring Road at Greensborough and the Eastern Freeway somewhere near Bulleen.

Some details available on the VicRoads' website here: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/RoadProjects/PlanningAndProposals/Melbourne/NorthEastLink.htm

It won't be ready by March '14, ie. 2014 or perhaps even 2114.
