Much cooler and thoroughly enjoyed our ride down the Sturt Highway from Euston for o/night in Renmark tonight. Due to the intense heat we've had to make some changes to our plans but that's been ok. Only a short hop into Adelaide on Friday until next  Thursday 3rd. Getting really excited now.  :dred11 :runyay
Photos are the of Murray Rv. The first one is from our camper looking along the river, and second one is River bed about 5ks from town.

Made it into Adelaide on Friday. Stinky Pete and Fish rode out and met us an Anguston. After a great coffee we rode on to Pomegratate Cafe at Birdwood (opposite the Birdwood Motor Museum) for a lunch stop and then into Adelaide where we are being spoilt with absolutely great hospitality.
Peter and I went exploring today and found a great little ride through the hills and down to Maslin Beach - apparently the nudists frequent one side and those batting for the other side frequent the other cliffs????
From there it was on to the picturesque area of Moana and a coffee at the Deep Blue Cafe. Following the coastline we made our way back to where the Onkaparinga Rv empties into the sea and then just because of the name it was on to Marion Shopping centre - the largest shopping complex in SA.

After amendment 87965.22 to our plans, Chris and I are driving with caravan. We are leaving Fri 4th in the mid afternoon and will arrive Thurs 10th. We now do not have a date we have to be back so will make a leisurely sojourn in southern WA on the way home. I will check tomorrow if I can hire a motorcycle for a couple of days for rally. :runyay :runyay

Yesterday we had a wonderful day tripping around the southern end of SA through the historic town of Strathalbyn, a quick coffee AND CAKE  :EatCake stop at Finnis General Store and then with the right timing for low tide down on the beach to the mouth of the Murray Rv.  What a lovely spot!!!

Next it was on to Goolwa to check out the sites there and a lunch time bakery stop.

From there we travelled through some beautiful countryside to Victor Harbour then on to Cape Jervis and returning to Adelaide late in the afternoon after following the coastline through more scenic countryside.  The best little gem I would have to say was Second Valley - a lovely spot.

Today we began the next leg of our trip to Perth.  We left Adelaide and wound our way through the hills through Roseworthy which was recently devastated with bush fires, through Yacka, Georgetown and are spending the night at Melrose just a short hop from Port Augusta.  While the temp climbed to 35 degrees the countryside made up for it.

Today has been a relaxing day in Kalgoorlie.  Everything in Kalgoorlie appears to be on the side of xlarge. We Checked out the Superpit from the viewing platform and it's absolutely gigantic.  Went to the underwhelming pub with the glass floor and mine shaft but the drinks are huge too.

We are still continuing on our epic trip.  We left the scorching heat of Perth on Tuesday and have camped at Busselton for the past 2 nights.  It was great yesterday to do some tripping around without the camper trailer so we checked out the lookout at Bunbury, waited for some dolphins to appear but unfortunately they were a no show.

From there we headed off to Gnomesville - what a quirky little spot that was.  Had we been a little more prepared we would have left an Ozstoc gnome - (next time maybe)

Then because we didn't have the trailer we had a lovely ride from Dardanup to Donnybrook and then we could really hook in on a great little windy stretch of about 40 k to Capel.

In the afternoon we checked out the jetty at Busselton the longest walkable timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.  Loving this holiday thing and all the sight seeing :hatwave

I'm thinking of a Gnome, painted wearing an OzSTOC Jacket, and travelling around the country with various OzSTOC members, much like the famous "Pudding" which makes it's appearance at the Border Runs.

What a good idea,
Where would you be able to get a Gnome riding a motorbike?
I don"t think that I have ever seen anyhing like that or even one with a tent etc.
Maybe now the hunt will start,

We have made it to Ravensthorpe today after leaving Bremer Bay. The bay was absolutely beautiful except for drizzly rain.  Tonight we have air con in motel room trying to dry coats, gloves, boots etc out after negotiating floodwater and rain all the way today. Despite reports of road closures Popeye and Chris continue on and are in Esperence for the night. Hopefully we see sunshine and a break in the weather so we can get on the road again. Our plan is to ride back across the Nullabor over the Easter break. Fingers crossed.
