Title: Hi from Perth WA
Post by: Arty68 on January 23, 2024, 10:19:30 PM
Hi All

Thanks for adding me the group.
I recently bought a 2006 ST1300 with 70klms.
It a beautiful bike with not a mark on it.
I want to get it serviced and went into the Honda dealership in Joondalup.
They said due to its age they could not help me.
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Perth that would be able to service my bike.  Are there any good mobile mechanics in Perth?
Look forward to maybe catching up with other ST owners around Perth, Fremantle areas.

Is that a thing?  Particularly if you say there's not a mark on it.

Anyway, a warm welcome from Radelaide.  :hatwave

Hi Arthur and another welcome to OzSTOC from Adelaide.   :hatwave    I do hope you'll find a decent mechanic who can do your services for you.

Hi Arthur, welcome to OzSTOC.

I'm sure you'll find another mechanic to do any necessary work on the ST1300. A non-Honda mechanic will likely be not as pricey.

There's probably no advantage going to a Honda dealer, as the ST are now getting older it'd not likely that they'll anyone experienced with the ST.

+1 to that.  I have always taken STrudel to a large Brisbane dealership that used to do a lot of work on the Police ST's.  From the last service I had done it would appear that their ST experience has departed. These days there may be better third-party choices anyway - There would be mechanics (usually 'older' gentlemen like ourselves) who while not employed by a dealership do know the ST well.

Hi Arty.

I find it odd that Northside said they couldnt do the servicing. I know a guy in the Joondalup area that gets his bike done there..

By the way, I am in the Joondalup area as well

Wow! a hoonda dealer with no skills. Well I never.....
They're not a difficult bike to work on. Find a one man band mechanic or spanner away yourself.
Cheers and welcome from the Yarra Valley

Hi Arty, welcome to OzSTOC. There is a mobile mechanic in Perth who seems to know his way around STs. I haven't had direct contact with him but he did solve a weird electrical problem (it was a bad earth) on a mates 2066 ST1300. I will pm you his details.
