They apparently have the same bluish tint that HID have H, and are not HID as such. so all you do is pop em in.

did you get 2 blue tip
or
2 grey tip
or
1 of each

the site says they ship MIXED
so if i buy 5 pair (10) bulbs
i may be lucky and get even numbers

I got two grey tips but I believe you should get a pair of the same. He does sell them as a single item but the pair is cheaper.

It's says HID but they aren't and he would not be alone in the way they are described as well.

Just put the new H4 bulbs in, the first took a few minutes because working by feel can be a little complicated however the second took bugger all time since I knew what I was doing. All I have to do now is get a new tyre fitted and go for a ride at night to test them out.

 | did it from underneath. Just checked Streaks pics and I see his bike doesn't have the big module above the lights mine has, my '99 doesn't have enough room to go from the top.

Remove the black plastic panel under the front fairing, reach under and you can fairly easily get to the back of the lights. At the bottom of the rubber 'seal' that is on the back of the light there is a tab, grab this and pull back, this will let the rubber come off, feel for the spring clip that holds the bulb in, you'll need to push this clip towards the front and move it sideways to undo it. Once the bulb is free pull it out with the connector attached. Remove the connector from the bulb by pulling it, hold the bulb firmly as the connector is a tight fit. When replacing the bulb with a H4 using the adapter rings bend the small fingers at the bottom (where the cutout is) out slightly to keep the spacer from falling off, I also used pliers to squeeze the adapter and the bulb base together which made it one unit. Fit the bulb into the light housing first and put the clip back over, then fit the rubber seal and finally plug the connector on.

The clip can be a bit fiddly but once you've worked out one the second is easy.

That's the the easiest way for me to do it as well. But I pull the connector off the globe before I pull the rubber seal off. Gives you more room  when doing the spring clip.

Good tip about bending the lower globe locating tabs. My LH goes in as easy as but the RH spacer keeps falling off.

Wonder what's different between yours and mine apart from the colour and a badge or two as they are both '99 A models

Using a mirror works wonders in terms at looking how that spring clip works.

The only difference is badging and the colour. I have heard that there were only 40 of the 50th anniversary gold models released in Australia by Honda in total so they are fairly uncommon.

I met up with Harieg on Saturday to change the light bulbs on his 1100 and my 1300 :blu13

I had previously changed the light bulbs on my old 1100 by turning the steering and reaching down past the dash next to the handlebars to access them, so I thought it would be easy, but as Harieg’s 1100 is an ABS model there are cables in the way on the right hand side :||||

So we decided the easiest way would be to access the area from underneath

Under the lights on the 1100 there was a plastic plate that was removed (held in with 2 screws) and after that it was relatively easy to reach the area.

Pulled the plug off the back of the bulb, then pulled the rubber boot off , then pushed in on the tension wire and moved it to the side releasing the pressure from the bulb.
At that point the bulb slides out. (Repeat for the other side)

For the 1300 it was essentially the same procedure except there wasn’t a plate under the lights to remove. (One of the plugs on my bike was a bit stuck and was a bitch to get out :cuss)

Next got out the new bulbs and snipped off the bottom two tabs, slipped the adapter ring on and squashed the base of the bulb and the ring together with pliers.

At this time the plate was found to be a bit loose :fp so… (At the bottom of the bulb there is a small cut out with 2 little tabs facing up) with the pliers, the tabs on the base of the bulb were bent onto the ring thereby holding it in place.

From here it was just putting it all back together
•   Slipped the bulbs into the light enclosure (feeling around the edge to make sure the tabs are sitting in the matching groves)
•   Pushed the tension wire over the bulb (push on the top of it and slide it to the side to lock it in place)
  Now for the rubber boot,
•   Placed a finger through the hole and held it up to the back of the bulb, felt the 3 prongs from the rear of the bulb and slid the boot on making sure the prongs came through the hole. Pushed around the edge of the boot to get it to sit in place.
•   Plugged the power plug on the bulb and replaced any bodywork that was removed.

Then coffee and a smoke, all done :grin
And there we go that was the light change experience at Harieg’s shop :thumb

Cheers
Shiney

thanx Shiney  ((Dave)) an exceptional write up
no Carol to look over our shoulder

so that is why it " DID NOT " go as easy as he try's to make you believe

BUT the end result is just great
white light  yes it is not blue
but far and away better the the standard Honda yellow

again a BIG thanx to Shiney
i would have given up after trying to remove the rubber boot
