Hey Guys and Girls,
As OZSTOC is a very informal place to be, participation in events and RTE are NOT mandatory or required or suggested... If you want to go, then go. If you don't, then don't.
We post them as a means to try and get people involved and give people a place to go. We provide destinations throughout the year and post them up on google maps ( https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=z6QZUoQtqNP0.kaLHAlQuG5P8 (https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=z6QZUoQtqNP0.kaLHAlQuG5P8) ).
We try to get at least one a month (except for freezing cold winter), I try to spread them out across the state to give members who are not based in Melbourne a chance to come along, this will sometimes result in what we have this year, which was a number of Overnighters, rather then the days trips.
These "official" for want of a better word, rides will continue, with your input of course...like we did last year with the map laid out on the table and people suggesting destinations.
Having said all that.
If you want to go somewhere or have a place to ride to which isn't part of the yearly list...
Then by all means post it up.
Day trip, Mid week trip, overnight trip, run down to shops for some milk trip.
This site is about you, it's about me, it's about every member, we're all equal on here.
I'm only here if you need help with formatting of site stuff etc, and if you do, please send me a message and I'll get to it asap.
Thanks :hatwave

a Question about RTE's.
I did try and find the info but couldn't. :CB--
when attending an RTE is it the location that is central and you ride your own route there ..... kinda like the Far Ride meets but obviously not a distance thing??
or is it a meet up at a location .... then go for a group ride and then eat?
Cheers,
Spanner

It's the destination, i.e the pub for a feed.
How you get there (whether joining up with other riders, or by your self) doesn't matter...
If some want to go on a group ride after they are more then welcome. That bit is up to you

What do you reckon Garry? I think we better pull our fingers out. I'll send you a message.

I have done some homework and preparatory work. I also have a rostering situation which is changing for next year. Not sure when it will be resolved so I guess we have to make a start with at least the first couple of months.

Here's a quick view of VIC RTE (day rides - for most) and RTE&S (overnighters - for most) for 2018, that Garry (ppopeye) & I have been working on to help you plan some of the coming year.
(https://image.ibb.co/kPA7Ew/2018_Quick_View.jpg) (https://imgbb.com/)
Details for Glengarry and Dunolly have been posted in separate threads. Inverloch is coming soon. Details on others to be posted soon, as well. There are a few TBA's, we are open to suggestions on dates and locations (day or overnighters). So contact Garry or me if you have any specific ideas.
For August, I would like to try an overnighter, something special for those that can't / don't want to make the NatRally in Mackay. I figure that will be something equidistant (well as best as possible) for NSW, SA & VIC members - of course anyone from anywhere will be welcome. But using Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne as a start point for each State, I'm thinking this will be somewhere around Griffith, Balranald, Hay ................. there is also a little place called Hillston NSW that looks interesting.
Expressions of interest on this one would be appreciated.

Is the date firm for October and Harrow because I put our Robe on November 17th 18th on hold expecting to change the location; not the date as well.
If it is then I can swap our October one over to November.
-
I sent this to Williamson a while back. Maybe he didnt get it. I havent heard.
Sent you a pm on the forum. Alan is ok to do Robe next year. Should we go with the 17/18 Nov for Harrow which is just swapping venues for the South Aussies and come up with one in Vic for Oct. I will try to email Harrow pub and make sure whatever weekend we plan doesnt clash with a busy time for them.

Just sent a PM to Alan and Garry to take this off-line and sort out any misunderstandings; stand by for clarifications. In the meantime, Glengarry and Dunolly are still okay.

Okay, after reviewing Garry's and Alan's PM's and posts, I have now revised the VIC RTE calendar. and here it is:
(https://image.ibb.co/mYbKwb/2018_Quick_View_V1_2.jpg) (https://imgbb.com/)
So ladies and gents, put some of these dates (perhaps all of them) into your calendar. If the event dates don't clash with any other commitments AND if you feel like a ride ...... well you will make up you own minds.
Details on each event will follow in a separate thread for an event specific thread. Send Garry or me a PM if we seem to be dragging our heals.

22 March RTE is a Thursday, likewise 19-20 April is Thursday Friday, is this correct Sir Michael?🤓

Mmmmm ....... quality control and checking ain't what it should be.
It's not correct, thanks for pointing that out JD. At least I know someone other than Alan, Garry and Nigel are following this thread. I will amend and repost, keep an eye on the date on the first line.

Michael,

I've updated the OzSTOC RTE Map and left Mar, Apr and May as TBA dates. I've left the icons different so they are easier to find.
When you have the correct dates, I'll update the map.

Apart from the corrections, I've added Camperdown on 30 June.
It was pointed out to me that June and July is cold and wet here in VIC, but I don't think that should prevent an RTE being organised. If there is a plan, there's a plan. If it turns out to be too cold and wet, well it can be called off, if even the diehards pull out.
-
Cold??? In this country? Surely you're havin' a larf.

Clicked on a couple of Destos on the list, just to get more info, and get the Thai dating site. Is it me, or I am missing something. I married 2 last week..Get to meet them in a month or so?.. :eek. :wht11

Which links?

Any of the destos in the list,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thai dating, or Older Dating. Probably good for both but not at the same time. Not in front of the missus anyway! Whats the plural of missus? is it missus us. ? :KissBlow :grin

That's a link to the image host site. If you are not logged into the host site, perhaps that's what you see when you 'click' on the image. Do you at least see the image for the hotel or Google Map?
-
Thai site gone but there is now (ATFS ICO Start) in its place no maps no other info. Maybe I've been given a dose of malware from the Thai site. I`ll go down to the chemist and get it checked. :wht11

Okay guys and gals.
After much deliberation, discussion and some listening, Garry (ppopeye) and I have come up with a VIC RTE 2019 calendar, and here it is:
(https://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu159/williamson_photos/RTE%20A%20Master%20List/Master%20Calendar_zps9bpwg5ym.jpg) (https://s643.photobucket.com/user/williamson_photos/media/RTE%20A%20Master%20List/Master%20Calendar_zps9bpwg5ym.jpg.html)
When hotel lunch bookings or accommodation availability has been confirmed, a thread will be started for each RTE with all of the usual type details.
The 11 May overnighter to Yarram is a consolation prize for Victorians and any others who (like me) will not be venturing to Balranald later that month. Of course, some may wish to attend both, 'specially if they are attending and want to take the Victoria flag to the Balranald event.

Sunday 17th is when we will be passing through Lorne and not the 10th.

Right you are. I’ll fix that tomorrow, too late now.
-
Looks like a great year. Now that we’ve moved back to the big-smoke, I’m actually quite central to almost all of these runs. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to make quite a few next year, double fingers crossed that my eldest (who turns 8 in Jan) likes the bike and wants to come along to a couple!

This map shows how well we cover Victoria next year.
-
Looks great, can't wait for 2019 to begin.

Morning, sitting down to enter these all in the calendar, just querying the date of the July RTE... Sun 11th doesn't seem to exist this year!
It is now tomorrow.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake which was also mentioned by another VIC member. I'm intending to fix this tonight.

Here we go, again:

Thanks to Gordo and SteveR for checking and then advising me of the error.

Garry has pointed out to me that the RTE scheduled for 20 April 2019 is actually over Easter, so I have nominated a move to Saturday 27 April 2019.

Okay Victorians, and wannabees, the VIC RTE calendar has changed, again. There are a few catch-ups, eg:
- Whoroully changed to Myrtleford, because despite the old owner confirming my booking, the new owners don't do Saturday lunch.
- Yarram Club Hotel changed to Commercial Hotel because the Club closed, and ride was cancelled due to lack of interest.
- Skipton Hotel, Skipton changed to Court House Hotel, Smythsdale because Skipton has closed.
- Motobean Cafe has also changed hands, don't know new name as yet, will post when I do.
So what we have is:
(https://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu159/williamson_photos/RTE%20A%20Master%20List/Master%20Calendar%20v5_zpsc3ntrxri.jpg) (https://s643.photobucket.com/user/williamson_photos/media/RTE%20A%20Master%20List/Master%20Calendar%20v5_zpsc3ntrxri.jpg.html)
Re. Skipton closed, rode there a month or so ago with a coupla mates, the pub has closed, looked like the town had too, trip wasn't a waste through as got talking to an old timer former Honda dealer motorcycle mechanic and an ST fan.
Anyway stand by for a Smythedale RTE thread.
