Title: Early Xmas Present
Post by: ruSTynutz on November 25, 2019, 09:08:50 PM
Lashed out on pair of bluetooth intercoms today...   :thumbsup

I couldn't justify paying (what I consider) the exorbitant prices of the Sena's so, after researching the Lexin and finding pretty favourable reviews I settled on the FT4.

With a bit of luck, it should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday.  :X

That looks like it should do everything the latest Senas do at a better price.  We'll all be interested to read your reviews.

Wired or Wireless is always the first decision when considering helmet communications.   I too will be keen to read your review, as I came close to going wireless on the Beemer, but will stick with my wired Starcom for the time being.

Was that a subtle hint for a review?  :whistle

Unfortunately I can't really say how good they are as Santa bought me another present, a new Helmet, a Shoei Neotec 2 and I hated the idea of having the Lexin slapped on the side of it when I could lash out and buy the built in Sena unit for more than I paid for the pair of Lexins...  :rofl

What I can say is they pair up to the Sena with no issues and Sue seems quite happy with the sound quality. She comes through to the Sena loud and clear too.
We pretty much only use it for talking between the 2 of us though so can't really comment on any of the other features.

Cheers  :beer

I purchased a Sena Evo 20S prior to Christmas and have been very happy with it. Riding Tassie with a mate in February, he had a Shoei with the built in Sena and our communicators paired effortlessly and my Sena also paired with the phone at the same time so I could listen to music and receive and make phone calls - fantastic! Julie (in fact we both) had a cheapie bluetooth comms set which was functional but not great, sound quality wise. I purchased the Lexin FT4 for Julie a couple of weeks ago and after several rather frustrating hours we got it to pair with the Sena. Julie said there as a "1000%" improvement in sound quality. The downside so far is because we used the universal pairing mode, I don't seem to be able to communicate with Julie AND have the bluetooth paired with the phone. Rusty, are you able to connect to the phone and be connected to Sue at the same time?
Cheers ... Mark

Hi Mark, I'm sure I recall listening to music on my phone while connected to Sue although I do know Sue couldn't hear any of the music I could hear.
I figured Sue would probably have to pair her comms to her own phone if she wants music.

We really haven't tried doing much else with them as Sue is quite content to just talk to me. Obviously we haven't been married long enough yet!  :rofl

If I'm riding solo I'll be a bit more adventurous...sometimes listening to music on the phone or if I'm in range even listening to the built in radio. I've even managed to make a phone call...lol. Of course that was all done with voice command...

My problem is my attention span isn't very good so if something takes more than 5 minutes to learn I quickly lose interest... :whistle
Unfortunately I have enough trouble remembering what button does what with the Sena so there's basically no chance whatsoever with me remembering what the buttons do on the Lexin.  :-[

Sorry I'm not much help...  :'(
