What jacket has worked the best for you?

Mate just hate DriRider as I think their junk "BUT
So I picks me up a DRIRIDER RALLYCROSS PRO 2 JACKET on the cheap "New" and its bloody excellent. Its a vented one, with a separate thermal waterproof liner, that after a couple of days in real rain, I know works. It has a built in camel back, that's just excellent, and I'd definitely get another no questions. Oh yeah and with gloves on the bottom pockets are no problems as they are huge and the the two top ones work as well

I wanted something that was at least a little high vis and did not cook me in the sun so I got this in yellow.

With the liner in it is fairly warm but is not water proof.

Last year I did 7000km in 7 days from NQ down through NSW to Port Augusta and up the centre and back across from Three Ways back to home.  Whilst riding through NSW I rode through some of the worst rain and winds (riding all day at 45 degrees) that I have experienced and I have to give credit to the Avalanche Jacket I bought from Bikers Gear Australia.  Frog and his team make a good product.  Only paid $130 delivered to NQ from Victoria.

Rode most of the day in rain 1700+km (FarRider) and only collar and cuffs got wet.  Spoke to him the other day and I after sales service is great also.

I have one of these. It has removable armour and a removable quilted inner layer for winter use. For summer use jacket has four vented zipped slots.

The jacket was bought in a Scooter shop in Adelaide for about $180 in January 2011.

I have been through some heavy rain and wish my gloves were as good as this jacket at keeping water out

Yeah Alan, Tack and Glen, I LIKE that the zipper/fastener has a flap that goes right away from the centre of the jacket, and into the stream of wind that would remove water quickly as the wind passed your body.

This is an integral part of the science of keeping you dry, I assume.

That OLYMPIA Stuff works. I have a Vented summer jacket in high Viz http://www.olympiamotosports.com/airglide/airglide.htm and a pair of summer vented pants http://www.olympiamotosports.com/recontransformer/recontransformer and not a problem with buying any of their stuff again with gloves on you can get stuff out of the pockets

I splurged recently on some waterproofed clothing

Comfortable and cooler than my leather but really, what a waste.
Arms get drenched from the elbows down.
Crotch gets soaked then water runs down thighs into boots.
Arrggghhh  >:(

Last June I bought a pair of Naxsax wet weather pants and found them to be exceptionally waterproof, and really easy to put on, a wide elasticized belt and zippers down the sides so you can put 'em on standing up

As for the top, I have an armoured mesh waist jacket by RST with a waterproof insert which zips straight in with a thermal liner which zips into that. Cool in the heat, warm in the cold and dry in the wet - couldn't be happier
